In the ever-expanding world of Remnant 2, the Dark Horizon DLC introduces lots of new challenges and areas for players eager to explore it. Among the exciting additions is the Insulator Mutator, a powerful tool that can significantly enhance your weapon/s.
However, obtaining the Insulator mutator requires navigating the complexities of the Hexagon Tower event within the Athenaeum Wek dungeon (finding the dungeon itself is also complex, a pain the ahh, really).
With the game’s “inherent randomness”, securing the House Wek Command Orb and reaching the Atheaneum Wek dungeon itself can seem impossible, but don’t worry! My guide will walk you through each step, ensuring you won’t have to spend more hours finding the coveted mutator to add to your collection!
How To Get Insulator Mutator (Hexagon Tower 2nd Orb Location) | The Dark Horizon DLC
First, you’ll have to get the House Wek Command Orb during the Hexagon Tower event in Atheneaum Wek — For more details, the event has a chance to spawn in Atheneaum Wek, which is a random dungeon in from The Dark Horizon DLC. That only means one thing, if you end up not getting the event, reset until you get it.
NOTE: While the game’s randomness can make navigation tricky, playing in one-shot mode and doing the same choices as mine will lead you to find the Athenaeum Wek!
After spawning at the Athenaeum Wek map, you must check the map if there’s a Hexagon Tower event — You can do so by simply navigating the area until you reach an open area with a tall tower and hexagon-shaped platforms moving up and down.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: The locations in the guide may be different for you, but you can still use the information as a reference.
If you’re in a Hexagon Tower event, proceed to the ride side of the first level and you’ll see 3 platforms as shown in the image below. Use it to proceed to the upper level.
Afterwards, look to your left and jump across to the other side of the platform.
Then, proceed to the single platform as shown in the image below. It’ll lead you to a hidden lower level.
You should see a corpse as well as the House Wek Command Orb — Pick it up and move back to the upper levels.
From there, you’ll then have to go to the top of the Hexagon Tower and place the House Wek Command Orb on the terminal.
I can’t guide you thoroughly on this part as the maps are randomized, but keep this in mind, so you know where to go: Always look around and find the platforms that move up and down; from there, just keep going up until you reach the top of the Hexagon Tower!
Finally, you’ll reach the Terminal — You’ll notice that there are two slots for the Orb/s. Make sure that you place the House Wek Command Orb on the Terminal or else you won’t get the Insulator.
After placing the House Wek Command Orb on the terminal, you can then interact and activate it — Doing so will spawn a Boss. Defeat it and you’ll get the Insulator mutator as a drop!
The Insulator Mutator makes spending of your weapon’s magazines grant a shield for a percentage of your health for 10 seconds — which can be maxed up to 25% of your health. Also, at Level 10, it provides a buff: Increases Ranged Critical Chance for your weapon by 10% when your shield is above 10% of your max health.
