Wondering how to obtain the Combat Shield Generator Ring and Short Circuit Amulet in the Remnant 2’s Dark Horizon DLC? These two powerful items complement each other and can greatly enhance your defensive and offensive capabilities! Both items can be found in N’Erud, hidden behind locked doors in the Overload Injectable area.

In my guide, I’ll walk you through how to locate and complete the Overload event, navigate through the locked doors, and defeat the enemies and mini-bosses in your way. By the end, you’ll be equipped with the Combat Shield Generator and the Short Circuit!

How to Get Combat Shield Generator Ring & Short Circuit Amulet| The Dark Horizon DLC

The Combat Shield Generator ring and Short Circuit amulat can be found in the N’Erud world, hidden behind a locked door in the Overload Injectable area. To unlock the doors, you’ll need to charge severed power cables using a SHOCK-based weapon. The Enigma weapon is highly recommended for this task.

The Overload event is a random event in The Dark Horizon DLC on all N’Erud dungeons — In order to find it, look for a closed gate with a power cable as shown in the image below. As mentioned above, use shock element weapons to open them.

TIP: You can also use Havoc Form, whose fast attack speed and wide range can brute-force the puzzle by charging all power cables simultaneously when discharging electricity.

Once you get inside, you’ll be greeted by lots of mobs — Scan the area around for a power cable you can activate to open the next door. In my case, I found mine near the enclosure in the middle of the area.

Go towards the gate you’ve opened, there will be another big mob — Kill it and locate the power cable on the area to proceed to the next area.

The next area you open will have a mini boss — Clear the gauntlet and you can then loot the Combat Shield Generator at the end of the area.

Up next, scan the area for yet another power cable — This will open the door back in the lobby which will contain the next item!

Go back to the lobby and find which room has the Short Circuit inside — Pick it up and you’ve got yourself both of the items. Nice work!

Combat Shield Generator & Short Circuit Overview

  • Combat Shield Generator: While in combat, crouching or performing a combat slide generates a stationary 3m x 1.5m Energy Shield with 700 Health, capable of blocking enemy projectiles. The shield lasts for 10 seconds or until broken by damage. After expiring, it can only be generated again after a 10-second cooldown.
    • This shield is particularly useful in chaotic combat scenarios where you need a quick breather, offering enough protection to regroup or reposition before the next wave of enemies.
  • Short Circuit: While a shield is active, this amulet increases your Critical Chance and Critical Damage by 10% and reduces Skill Cooldowns by 6% every 5 seconds.
    • This potent combination makes the Short Circuit a versatile tool in combat, offering a balance between offense and skill utility when shielded, allowing players to maximize their damage potential while frequently using their abilities.
