2 articlesPortal Revolution‘s chapter 1 is a bit tricky. This chapter should be the least of your worries as the puzzles get increasingly more difficult as you progress.
The puzzles start to get a little harder when you reach Chapter 1’s Chamber 8 with all the confusing laser beams.
You’ll have to manipulate these laser beams with boxes while traversing through several platforms to get to the next chamber. It sounds simple, but here’s a quick solution to Chapter 1’s Chamber 8 puzzle in Portal Revolution.
How to Solve Chapter 1 – Chamber 8 (Human Resource)
First, enter the puzzle room. Shoot your second portal anywhere and go through that second portal. This will take you to the second floor and you’ll see a red button next to you.

Press the red button and it’ll drop a box for you to manipulate the laser beams.
Shoot your first portal on the other side of the platform.
Go inside your second portal to teleport to the other platform and bring the box with you. This second platform will have a red button on the floor, which will be important later on.
Place the box on the laser beam and adjust it so that it’ll redirect the beam toward your first portal.
When the beam goes through the portal, it should hit the ring on the wall. This will activate the platform to go up.
Jump down to the first floor. You’ll see that the platform has already risen. Make sure to use the second portal (in this case, the blue one) anywhere to stop the beam from hitting the ring on the wall.
The platform will go back down. Step on it and shoot your second portal again to hit the ring on the wall.
Once you are lifted by the platform, you’ll see a box and another ring. Shoot your second portal on the wall next to the box.
Bring the box with you as you go through your second portal. You’ll reach the area where you got the first box again.
Remember these puzzles as the next and final chamber of Chapter 1 will revolve around the same mechanics. You’ll even get a nifty achievement for finishing Chapter 1.
Repeat the process with the first box to get the second box into the second platform (the one with the red button on the floor). Place the second box on the red button.
Once the second box is on the red button, jump down and bring the platform down again by using the same method before. Step on the platform and shoot the portal again so that it can lift you again.
Shoot the second portal again next to where you found the second box.
Go inside and press the red button where you initially started the puzzle. This will drop the first box again. Use this box to align the beam on the portal you just created to get to this room.
Step inside the portal and you have now solved Chapter 1 – Chamber 8 Human Resource!
