Mythic Uniques in Diablo 4 Season 14 work completely differently to how they did before. Mythic is no longer a separate rarity reserved for a handful of legacy items. It is now a modifiable item quality that can apply to virtually every Unique in the game.

In this guide I will walk you through every version of Mythic Unique available in Season 14, how the crafting system works through the Horadric Cube, and the best ways to get your hands on them.

Complete Season 14 Mythics Guide

In Season 14, any Unique item can now reach Mythic quality through two routes. It can drop naturally as a Mythic from bosses and endgame content, or you can convert an existing Unique into one using the Horadric Cube.

Every Mythic Unique is automatically Ancestral and keeps its signature Unique Power intact. On top of that, the Unique Power receives a flat 30% buff across the board. All other affixes also roll at their maximum possible values, which removes a lot of the variance that made regular Uniques feel inconsistent even when you landed the right item.

The 30% buff is worth understanding properly before you start chasing specific items. On weaker Uniques with modest bonuses, the increase will feel minor.

But on powerful Uniques that already deal with high percentage multipliers or large flat numbers, that 30% compounds on top of an already strong baseline and can result in a very significant power jump. The stronger the Unique’s base effect, the more impactful the Mythic version becomes.

There is one important restriction to be aware of. You can only equip one crafted Mythic Unique at a time. This is the central balancing mechanic of the new system and applies specifically to anything produced through the Horadric Cube.

However, Mythic Uniques that drop naturally as rare loot from bosses, caches, or endgame content do not count toward this limit. If you are lucky enough to find multiple Mythics through drops, you can equip all of them alongside your single crafted Mythic without any issue.

Iconic Mythics

The Mythic Unique system received a significant overhaul in Season 14 and it is worth understanding what changed before you start spending Resplendent Sparks.

First, old Mythic Uniques are now called Iconic Mythics. The Blacksmith remains the place to craft them. The Mythic Unique Cache recipe still exists there and costs 2 Resplendent Sparks plus 50,000,000 Gold to use, which gives you a random Iconic Mythic from the pool.

The Jeweler can no longer craft Iconic Mythics at all, so the Blacksmith’s random recipe is now the only craftable path available. Natural drops still work as they always have.

One of the bigger changes this season is how Iconic Mythic affixes work. Previously every Iconic Mythic had a fully predictable and fixed affix layout that you could plan your build around with certainty. Now four of the affixes are randomized within that item’s specific affix pool.

Two affixes remain guaranteed to preserve the core build identity of the item, but the other four will vary from drop to drop. This means you can no longer treat Iconic Mythics as guaranteed stat sticks and may need to reroll to get the right combination for your build.

Speaking of rerolling, Chaotic Reroll and Focused Reroll do not work on Iconic Mythics. The Occultist’s standard one-affix Enchanting reroll does work though, so you still have some recourse if you get an awkward affix combination.

Iconic Mythics are still powerful items and well worth chasing, but they no longer dominate the meta by default the way they did in previous seasons.

How to Acquire New Mythics

There are several ways to get your hands on Mythic Uniques in Season 14 and it is worth knowing all of them so you can target the most efficient route for your situation.

The primary new method is upgrading existing Uniques into Mythic Uniques using the Horadric Cube. To do this you need Pandemonium Fragments, which is the new Seasonal currency introduced this season.

You can earn Pandemonium Fragments by progressing through the Seasonal Reputation board, opening Resplendent Caches, or by killing the new Seasonal Lair Boss, the Corrupted Reaper. Stock these up as you play since you will need them to upgrade your best Uniques.

The Corrupted Reaper is also worth farming for another reason. Defeating it gives you a direct chance to earn a Mythic Unique as a drop, on top of the Pandemonium Fragments it rewards. Running the Lair Boss regularly is one of the more targeted ways to chase specific Mythic Uniques rather than relying purely on upgrading.

If you push your Season Rank high enough, you will also earn a class-specific Mythic Unique as a reward. This is one of the more reliable ways to guarantee at least one strong Mythic for your build early in the season without relying on RNG.

Finally, on both Seasonal and Eternal Realms, any time an Ancestral Unique would drop there is a very rare chance it will roll as a Mythic Unique instead. It is not something you can actively farm for but it means every Ancestral drop has a small chance of being something special, which makes farming high tier content feel a little more exciting throughout the season.

That’s It

The Mythic 3.0 system is a genuinely exciting addition to Season 14 and has raised the overall power ceiling significantly for every class. More players can now access build defining items that previously felt completely out of reach. The downside is that it is heavily RNG dependent and getting the right Mythic with the right affixes is a serious grind.
