Path of Exile 2 is currently in early access, and even though only around half of the content is available at the moment, there is already plenty to do and items to farm for. Jewels are among the things that you’ll be searching for as you progress further into the game, but what exactly are they and how do you get them? This guide will try to give you the answers you are looking for!
Simple Jewel Guide | How to Get Jewels & How to Use Jewel Sockets
Before you can start using jewels, you obviously need to get some first. These reportedly start dropping somewhat commonly once you reach the second act of the game. If you have not made it there yet, then you will likely need this guide on how to defeat Count Geonor.
In act 2, you are going to start finding jewels as somewhat rare drops, so you will need to pray that RNGesus blesses you if you are actively looking for one. Many have stated that Keth is a great place for getting these.
To increase your chances of getting a good one, consider slapping on some gear that have the “increased rarity of items found” modifier on them if you have some. Getting these also requires some RNG though, so we can’t exactly tell you how to get a whole loadout of it.
Slotting in Jewels
Now, if you got lucky and managed to get some jewels while farming, slotting them in is actually really easy. Justopen your passive skill tree and look for any jewel socket that you have unlocked.
This will be in different spots depending on what class you picked, though they are often found near the edges. For example, here is what a part of the warrior class’ skill tree looks like. The jewel sockets are highlighted in green:
In order to put them in one of these sockets, simply open your inventory and then click on the jewel. Afterwards, just hover over an open jewel socket and put it in there. You should now gain all the stats listed down in its description!
You can also remove it by just right clicking and putting it back in your inventory. So yes, you can swap between different jewels. You can always change this part of your build for free whenever you get one that has better stats, so you need not worry about locking yourself into one jewel.
That is pretty much all you need to know in order to find and make use of these slightly rare resources. At the end of the day, it is all about getting some good RNG and hopefully having actually useful stats if you ever actually get one to drop.

If he’s not busy working or writing on his personal blog, there’s also a non-zero chance that you stumble into him in pretty much any multiplayer game that has SEA or OCE servers. He’s pretty good at anything unless it’s a fighting game, in which case you’d probably body him.
