One of the newest additions to the Return of the Ancients update for Path of Exile 2 is the Archon of Chayula ascendancy node. This is exclusive to the Acolyte of Chayula monk who, for the past few updates, has been struggling to make it to the top of the meta.
That said, the Archon of Chayula isn’t something you can get straight away once you ascend as an Acolyte of Chayula. It’s a secret unlock similar to the Abyssal Lich introduced in the previous update.
If you want to play as a Chayula monk and gain access to the Archon of Chayula, this guide is for you.
How to Unlock the Archon of Chayula Ascendancy Node in Path of Exile 2
The very first step to unlock the Archon of Chayula ascendancy node is to pick the Acolyte of Chayula as your ascendancy.

After that, finish the campaign and make your way to the maps. Then, while mapping, you will happen to encounter Ailith randomly in one of your maps. Talk to her and she will task you with clearing the nearby Breach encounter.
Next, head to the Monastery of the Keepers to start the Breach questline. For this, you have to complete maps and make your way to the southern section of your Atlas.

Once you get closer to the monastery, you will start encountering Breaches on the map. During the Breach questline, you will reach a point where you need to defeat the Breachlords, It That Was Tul and It That Was Esh.

Defeat them to obtain a quest item known as the Breachlord Sac. Head back to the monastery and look for an open passage to the left of the Genesis Tree. Simply follow the hallway until you come across the Mysterious Acolyte and Ailith.
Talk to them until you’re given the instruction to donate the Breachlord Sac to the Dreamer. Interact with the huge tree in front of you to donate the Breachlord Sac. This will then revive the Dreamer.
Just go through the conversation with the Dreamer, and once it’s done, you will then unlock the Archon of Chayula ascendancy node.
Final Thoughts
As you can see, unlocking the node takes a bit of time, especially since you have to progress through the entire Breach questline.
So, what exactly does this node do?
For starters, it grants the Archon of Chayula buff, which grants you 20% more physical and chaos damage. At the same time, you have a 25% chance to Wither enemies on hit for 4 seconds. Lastly, you can summon a Chaos tornado that deals Chaos damage for a duration.
Do take note that you have to build Glory before you can use the buff. You can do this by simply dealing Chaos damage to your enemies. Since it’s an ascendancy skill, you can socket support gems into it to increase its effectiveness.
And that’s how you can unlock the Archon of Chayula in Path of Exile 2. If you plan on playing a Chayula monk, this is definitely something you should try.
