27 articlesNostalgia Country is the 4th Challenge Course for the Hilltop Layer in Donkey Kong Bananza. It’s a 2D side-scrolling level, very much meant as a throwback to the classic Donkey Kong Country games. Besides reminiscing, you can also collect 3 different Banandium Gems as you go through this level. Two of them are on the critical path, but another is surprisingly well hidden! Read on, we’ll tell you how to get all 3 of these bananas.

Treasured Memories
The very first Banandium Gem in this stage is the only really tricky one. To get it, first break the ground at the very start of the level and grab one chunk of terrain. Yep, it’s at the very start of the level!
Once you have your chunk of terrain, Jump Shot by jumping and pressing A again mid-air. Use the propulsion from this double jump to get above the level’s entrance. You will find DK’s classic house hidden there, cleverly obscured by the camera’s position.
Then, just enter DK’s house to find the banana floating above a tire. Bounce on the tire and punch upwards until you break this Banandium Gem to collect it!

The second Banandium Gem here is nearly unmissable. It will be directly in front of you about a third into the level, right after the first barrel section. It’s partly buried in the ground, but it’s so huge that you should have no trouble spotting it!
Hijinx In the Jungle
You find the third and final Banandium Gem shortly after the second one. Just continue through the level as normal until you reach the next barrel section, then defeat the large dirt statue.
The banana is right past the statue, partly buried in the ground in front of the level’s exit. Just like the previous one, it’s extremely obvious, so you probably already saw it without our help.
