New World: Aeternum has an endgame challenge activity called Soul Trials, which you can do every day for a chance to get strong endgame rewards.

These Soul Trials, in essence, are just leveled rematches of the game’s many bosses. Which ones of the many many bosses in the game get picked is random and changes every day. Nonetheless, the basics always remain: you get to defeat stronger variants of old bosses for some sweet loot!

In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about the endgame Soul Trials activity.

Soul Trials Guide

The Soul Trials become available in New World: Aeternum once you reach Level 65 with your character. You can find them under the Activity Finder in the pause menu.

Soul Trials are basically endgame rematches against random bosses from the game’s story, as we mentioned previously. You can do 3 different Soul Trials which rotate daily, giving you a random selection of bosses to fight against. These bosses are also leveled up to match the endgame, so expect them to be around Lv 65, unlike their story counterparts!

That said, the bosses in these Soul Trials should pose little threat to you as long as you have proper equipment. The bosses don’t seem to have any new gimmicks exclusive to the Soul Trials, they just have increased stats to match your endgame level. We do recommend bringing some consumables such as Food items to help you with the fights, however.

Beating a boss will complete its Soul Trial and give you random rewards from its large reward pool. You can see the available rewards from every Soul Trial when selecting them in the Activity Finder. The rewards can be anything from Legendary Resources like Dark Matter to top-tier equipment such as the Power Stone Artifact.

However, do keep in mind that there are a pair of limitations for Soul Trials!

Soul Trials Limitations

The first limitation is that you can’t bring in any other players with you. You have to take these bosses on solo. This might change later, or be different for specific Soul Trials, but all the ones we saw listed 1 as their Maximum Players requirement.

Just in case, you can double-check the requirements for Soul Trials when you select them. They’re on the right side of the description.

The second limitation is that you can only claim rewards from each Soul Trial once per day. That means 1 reward claim per Soul Trial for a total of 3 rewards a day. You can repeat a Soul Trial multiple times if you want, but you won’t get a reward after the first victory.

With all of that said you should know everything you need to take on the Soul Trials in New World: Aeternum. Don’t pass up these daily rematches with the game’s many bosses, as the rewards can help you min-max your endgame gear.

Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
