The Season of Conquerors for New World: Aeternum will introduce a time-limited Seasonal World that acts as a PvP server, but requires you to redo the leveling process.

Whether you’re a new or returning player, the Seasonal World requires you to start with a new character. This new Seasonal World also has PvP enabled at all times, so it’s not for the faint of heart! Despite that, leveling works more or less the same as it does in a regular world.

In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about leveling in the Season of Conquerors PvP world. This includes reminders that apply to both this new world and standard ones, as well as some new things exclusive to the Seasonal World.

Seasonal World Leveling Guide for PvP Server | New World: Aeternum

How PvP Flagging Works in the Seasonal World

One of the main things to keep in mind with the new PvP Seasonal World server in New World: Aeternum is that you’ll be flagged for PvP at all times after leveling up a bit. Your character gets permanently flagged for PvP once you reach Level 15 or join any Faction, whichever happens first.

Of course, this primarily means that you can’t opt out of PvP. It’s enabled at all times! On the upside, being flagged for PvP does still give you a +10% XP Bonus, just like it would on other servers. Just remember that the bonus isn’t active during Expeditions.

On top of that, it’s also worth noting that this Seasonal World will have a 25% XP boost at all times. This will apply both to your character XP as well as your Trade Skill XP. Not too shabby, right? Especially since you get to transfer your new Seasonal World character to a standard server once the season ends.

Ultimately, this just means you’ll be earning 35% more XP as you play in this PvP Seasonal World!

Content Priorities When Leveling

The main thing you want to know when leveling in New World: Aeternum is what type of content to prioritize, and this is still true in the PvP Seasonal World server.

As such, you should do the following types of content in order of importance:

  • Main Story Quests – The game’s main campaign is straightforward. Going through it will unlock more features early on and it’s also a fantastic source of XP. Just be wary, there are groups of players who like to camp out near main story quest locations to farm other players in PvP. It’s one of the big downsides of forced PvP.
  • Daily Faction Quest – Once you join a Faction, you can talk to its representatives to get Faction quests. The first three Faction quests you do each day will give you a much larger reward than usual. As such, we recommend doing Faction quests every day to make leveling up smoother!
  • Repeatable Expedition Missions – When you take on certain Expeditions, NPCs will ask you for an extra repeatable objective to do during the Expedition. Completing these extra missions is a good way to get some extra Gold and XP, so don’t ignore them.
  • Corruption Portals – These portals spawn randomly throughout the game’s world. They can be unreliable, as it requires a large congregation of players to complete. But, when things do work out well, completing these portal events will give you a large boost of XP.
  • Town Project Board Quests – Last but not least, check the Town Project Board at settlements and complete their quests. They give decent XP and, more importantly, upgrade your settlements!

Learn the Tricks of the Trade

Questing and dungeon crawling aren’t the only things you’ll be doing in New World: Aeternum, even when you’re leveling in the PvP Seasonal World server. You should also pay attention to your Trade Skills, such as Cooking, Fishing, Woodworking, etc.

Speaking of Fishing, we have a guide on how to fish without breaking your fishing line. It’s a good idea to check it out if you plan to level up that particular Trade Skill.

Performing any activity related to a Trade will grant you XP for the trade itself as well as for your character. For example, chopping down trees will level up your Woodworking while also giving some overall XP. Plus, as we mentioned before, there’s a 25% boost to Trade Skill XP in the Seasonal World server.

Out of all the Trade Skills, we recommend putting a focus on the Music skill. Get your Music Trade Skill to Level 25 and you’ll unlock the “All Together Now” song. Playing this song will grant you and your party an increase in shared XP gain for a decently long period of time. This adds up over time for sure, so we recommend getting Music to Lv25 as soon as possible!

Get a Mount and Explore

Another very important part of the leveling process is to get a mount and simply explore the game world. You can get your first mount once you reach Level 20. If you want to know more in detail, check out our guide on how to unlock mounts.

Mounts speed up everything you do in this game. Going from point A to point B is a lot faster when you have a mount, so you can complete more quests in a shorter amount of time. What’s more, you’ll be exploring more and discovering Points of Interest and areas. Each new area you discover gives you some bonus XP, making it key for progression!

In short, exploring gets you XP. Using a mount lets you explore faster. Thus, you want to get a mount as soon as possible to speed up leveling.

So, there you have it, that’s everything you need to know for leveling in the PvP Seasonal World server in New World: Aeternum. The process is, overall, pretty much the same as it is on regular servers. The one major difference will be that you’ll have to deal with PvP at all times.
