Did you know that you can recruit villagers in LEGO Fortnite? The system is quite interesting. As this is a survival/crafting game, you’ll have the option to create your own village. But after that, NPCs will randomly roam around your village and you can recruit some of them to be part of your village. Some will have easier requirements to fulfill and some will have harder ones, it all depends on what you get from the villager (skills, tools, late-game options, etc).
How To Recruit Villagers
To recruit villagers in LEGO Fortnite is pretty straightforward, here’s what you do:
Build Village Square
As the description implies, this will allow you to establish your village in the area and it will consequently give you the option to recruit villagers. To build it, you’ll need x10 Wood and x10 Granite. This recipe will be available to you in the early stages of the game.
Wait for an NPC
As I said before, once you have established a Village Square, NPCs will randomly swing by. They will be hard to miss and there will be plenty of villagers, so don’t worry about missing out on them.
Interact with the NPCs
All that’s left to do is interact with the NPCs. They will tell you their story, why they are in your village, and sometimes they’ll ask point-blank to live in your village. You’ll need to have beds for these villagers in order for them to join your village.
Some may take more persuading than others and some may have some requirements to join the village. Whatever the case may be, be sure to keep interacting with them to get to the “Join my village” part of the dialogue options.
While recruiting a villager isn’t as much of a milestone as unlocking the glider, it’s pretty darn close!
Village Hub Explained
The village hub is the thing that will allow players the ability to have villagers, and have village-related perks for in-game progression. Think of it as the main governmental body for your village.
When your village hub is at level one, you will only have the ability to recruit one villager. Higher levels get more slots to recruit members. That goes for perks too. Higher levels = more perks. Check this graphic below for more reference:
