The best way to utilize fossils after extraction is to sell them. Although the game clearly shows how much money each fossil is worth, it doesn’t really give you an option to sell it.

So how can you do that, exactly?

Each fossil has a set of requirements you’ll need to meet before extracting it. Some can be sold, and their worth is shown in the bottom right portion of the screen after selecting them. Those will be automatically sold after extracting them.

You don’t need to do anything besides that. If you already have fossils to extract and a scientist you can assign them to the job.

But how can you get fossils?

To start excavating fossils, you’ll first have to build a research center. You’ll also need an expedition center. From where you can send scientists to look for fossils found in dig sites scattered around the world.

Once they’ll from their voyage, a little dinosaur skull icon should appear next to your research center, indicating that you’ve obtained new fossils.

Not every fossil can be sold, but most will give you some genomes that can be used to hatch new dinosaur species. Depending on your needs, you might want to focus on extracting the more profitable fossils or those that will give less or no money, just to unlock a new dinosaur.
