The Fast Travel Bell is one of the most useful items you can unlock early in Windrose. Once you start exploring the game, sailing back and forth can quickly become time-consuming.

That’s where the Fast Travel System comes in. However, the Fast Travel Bell is not an item that allows fast travel itself. Instead, it is one of the key components for the Fast Travel Point. This is a building you can place wherever you wish, and you can teleport back to it whenever you want.

Once you understand how the system works, traveling around the map can become dramatically faster and much less frustrating.

So, how do you get it in the first place? Let’s take a look.

How to Get the Fast Travel Bell

There are two main ways to get the Fast Travel Bell right now. One is to look for it while exploring, and the other is to craft it.

For the first method, you’ll want to visit specific landmarks. Two spots that I know have Fast Travel Bells are the Smuggler’s Cache on the starting island and the Abandoned Buccaneer Camp to the west.

Both of these locations have Fast Travel Bells in their chests, so you just need to go loot them. Do be warned, though, as there are tough enemies at both spots!

Players also reported finding bells from small shipwrecks near the shoreline and beachside chests around the starter island.

That said, the main downside to this method is just that there is a limited number of Fast Travel Bells.

If you want more bells for later, then crafting is your best option. It’s a bit more work, but it does allow you to get as many Fast Travel Bells as you want.

You’ll need the following resources to make 1 Fast Travel Bell at the Workbench:

  • Copper Ingot x10 – Obtained by smelting raw Copper Ore at a Furnace.
  • Rope x3 – Make it at the Workbench by using Plant Fiber you get from bushes.

Now, to use the Fast Travel Bell, you’ll need to use the Building menu to make a Fast Travel Point using 1 Fast Travel Bell and 20 Wood. Place it wherever you like.

After that, you need to place a second Fast Travel Point elsewhere. Once two points exist, you can then instantly travel between them.

Simply open your map and click on the Fast Travel Point to choose to instantly teleport there! Alternatively, interact with a Fast Travel Point to bring up the map and teleport to any other Fast Travel Point you’ve placed.

Restrictions on Where You Can Place Fast Travel Points

You can only place Fast Travel Points near coastlines, docks, shallow water, or beaches. Unfortunately, there’s no option to place them deep inland.

However, one trick most players use involves building a short wooden pier that extends into the water. This will give you a valid area to place your Fast Travel Point while also creating a docking spot for your ship.

Also, the game limits you to a maximum of 10 Fast Travel Points. As such, make sure to place them strategically.

There you have it! That’s all you need to do to get and use the Fast Travel Bell in Windrose. Make good use of them to speed up your travels.

Did you happen to get the Oil Lamp as you looked for the Fast Travel Bell? You should learn how to refill it, too.
