Clay is one of the most important resources you need to find in Windrose, but it’s an easy one to miss.

The main reason you want Clay is for all of the crafting possibilities it allows for, primarily ones centered on the Alchemy system. Thankfully, while Clay is easy to miss, it’s also pretty easy to find once you know where to look.

In this quick guide, I’ll tell you everything you need to hoard as much Clay as possible!

How and Where to Find Clay

The easiest way to find Clay in this game is to simply walk along the shore. You can often find nodes of Clay on the ground by just walking a bit inland into the Coastal Jungle biome from the shoreline. Clay nodes look like the one in the image above.

To “mine” the Clay, you’ll need to use a Pickaxe. You can make a basic Stone Pickaxe at a Workbench by using 3 Stones and 3 Wood, though I imagine you already have that by this point.

When you do find a Clay node, I recommend grabbing as much of it as possible. It’s a very important resource for a lot of early-game crafts, so you might as well get all that you can!

If you exhaust a Clay node, you’ll need to wait for it to respawn. I admittedly don’t know the exact timing for respawns, but it seems that most resources (including Clay) respawn every 2 or 3 in-game days.

Since they do take a while to respawn, though, it’s better to explore to find more nodes instead of just farming a single spot.

Also note that resource nodes that are too close to your camp do not respawn. That’s to prevent them from obstructing your base, but do keep it in mind!

So, there you have it! In short, you can find Clay in Windrose by looking for the mud-like patches on the ground in the Coastal Jungle biome. Mine it with a Stone Pickaxe or better and hoard it up.
