Just like the mobile game, it’s based on, you can forge and get a variety of weapons for every character in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Better weapons equals stronger characters!
Forging itself is a fairly simple process in Relink, you just need to bring the right materials to the Blacksmith and he’ll do it all for you. But, you don’t get access to the Blacksmith from the get-go…
In this short guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know to forge weapons!
How to Forge Weapons
You will only be able to forge new weapons once you progress the main story enough. More specifically, you need to beat Chapter 5 so that you get free access to Folca. Conveniently, Folca is home to the Blacksmith!
Once you’re in Folca, simply approach the Blacksmith near the center of town and ask him to Forge Weapons. This will bring up a list all characters you’ve already recruited.
Select the character you wish to forge a weapon for to bring up the full list of all the weapons that can be forged for them.
Truth be told, though, the selection is… very lacking if you’re checking the option out as soon as you unlock Folca.
In fact, the vast majority of weapons can only be forged once you beat the main story and reach the endgame content. Beating the story and higher difficulties will unlock 4 more weapons, for a total of 5.
There’s also an additional 6th weapon, as well, but that one can’t be forged. Instead, it’s only obtained as a drop from the final quest in the game, “The Tale of Bahamut’s Rage.”
So, basically, you just need to beat the game to expand your ability to forge weapons. That aside, though, the forging process is extremely simple.
The Basics of Forging
To forge, just select the weapon you wish to forge and you will see its full list of materials. You will also need to pay a fee in Rupies, so you should make sure to get some money first, too!
Materials vary for every single weapon, with the exception of Champion Merits. You can get those from completing most quests in the game, so just keep taking on quests to get them.
You can always highlight any materials shown and press Triangle (Playstation) or Y (Xbox) to add them to your wishlist.
This allows you to search for quests that give the materials as rewards, making the grind a lot more bearable!
With all that said, though, now you know everything you need to know to get started forging your weapons. Also remember to get some strong Sigils and your Skyfarer will become unstoppable!
Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
