Your goal here is to enter the cave with the Monetoo and to help them deal with the dangers within. Get them all together so that they can restore the nearby graffiti and the Luxurious Chest is all yours!
Read on and we’ll tell you how to start the 7 Monetoo Cave puzzle and its solution.
You can start the 7 Monetoo puzzle in Genshin Impact by checking the entrance to a cave east of the Scions of Canopy tribe in the Natlan region and completing it will get you a Luxurious Chest. To start the puzzle, go to the spot by the river marked on the map above.
There may be enemies in the area, but they’re quite weak. Deal with them and indwell the nearby Saurian.
Next, interact with the Phlogiston fissure by the entrance to reveal a Common Chest and a pair of Crystal Beetles. Use them to charge up your Phlogiston if need be.
Then, check the opposite side of the entrance to find a pillar buried in the ground. Attack it with any of your Saurian’s abilities and then choose to infuse it with Phlogiston. A nearby wall will move, revealing a path into the cliffside. You can now head into the cave!
Enter the cave to find the ground covered in a large amount of Phlogiston Piles. Destroy them using your Saurian abilities until you reach the bottom of the cave. An explosion will leave you dazed, transporting you to a new location.
Meeting the Monetoo
As soon as you come to your senses, look for a Monetoo directly in front of you. Interact with it to infuse it with Phlogiston, then follow it as it walks. The Monetoo will stop moving in front of a large graffiti mural. You need to bring back the other 6 Monetoo to complete the graffiti and solve the puzzle.
From the graffiti mural, take the path to the right until you reach a large stone pillar. Deal with any enemies you encounter on the way.
Find the group of Monetoo below the rock pillar and talk with them. Tell them that it’s safe to go back now that you’ve killed the nearby enemies! They’ll return to the graffiti mural, but one of them will also open up a Molten Fissure nearby.
Go southeast of the rock pillar to find a Saurian indwell location as well as the Molten Fissure left behind by the Monetoo. Indwell the Saurian and use the fissure to climb the southern wall all the way up.
Once at the top of the wall, you’ll spot another Monetoo. It will start walking forward as soon as you approach it, so just follow it.
Reuniting the Monetoo
After walking a short bit, the Monetoo will stop in front of some unstable Phlogiston spots. These spots appear as red waves on the ground and will explode shortly after you touch them. Approach the Phlogiston spots yourself to detonate them safely, allowing the Monetoo to continue walking.
Eventually, you’ll clear the path to reach a dead end where you’ll meet another Monetoo. Watch as the Monetoo reunite, then follow them as they try to leave the cave.
Surprisingly, a wall will appear and block the path that you used previously. Approach the two Monetoo and ask them if there are any other routes. A short cutscene will play and another Monetoo will reveal a route for you.
Follow the three Monetoo until they reach the end of the path, then talk with them. Tell them that it’s safe to return to the graffiti mural now and they’ll leave.
Drop down to the ground level and go through the crack in the north to return to the graffiti mural yourself.
Approach the group of 4 Monetoo in the northern part of the cave now. Simply ask them to restore the graffiti and they’ll happily oblige. After all, you did save their lives! Watch as the Monetoo become one with the graffiti mural.
So there you have it, that’s the solution to the 7 Monetoo puzzle you can find in one of the many underground caves as you explore Natlan in Genshin Impact. A Luxurious Chest will spawn right in front of you along with a pair of Precious Chests. We hope you get some Green Obsidian Fragments so you can get and use the Green Obsidian Ring if you don’t have it already!
