“Lost in the Woods” is one of the earliest quests available in the Natlan region for Genshin Impact 5.0.

You should do this quest right before you even get to explore Natlan, in fact. It’s unavoidable, but you’ll also get to meet a couple of charming Saurians who might help you later on as you explore Natlan!

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to start and complete the “Lost in the Woods” quest for Genshin Impact 5.0’s Natlan region.

Lost in the Woods Guide | Genshin Impact

Lost in the Woods starting point

“Lost in the Woods” is the first quest you’ll get to do in Natlan for Genshin Impact 5.0. As soon as you go to the Natlan region, keep heading west to the spot marked on the map above. You should automatically be warped to another area as you go down the path.

Fighting the Rifthounds

As soon as you appear in the new area, you’ll see a Saurian being attacked by a pack of Rifthounds. Help the Saurian by defeating the Rifthounds to start a cutscene!

Rescue the whelp

Right after the cutscene, you’ll be put in control of the Saurian. You should also see a pillar in front of you, seemingly holding another Saurian captive. Walk toward the pillar and use your Saurian’s attack to break the rocks around the pillar. Another cutscene will play out and you’ll get to know more about these Saurians… you’ll even get to name the small one!

Saurian companion at the exit

After the cutscene, the small Saurian you just named will tell you about the exit to this strange dreamlike area. Simply follow them as they take you to the shining pillars in the southern part of the area. The exit will reveal itself once you reach the pillars, use it to return to Natlan proper.

Lost in the Woods end

The “Lost in the Woods” quest will automatically complete once you leave the dreamlike area. You’ll get 20 Primogems and the “Reaffirmed Accord of Appellation” Precious Item. You can use this item to rename the little Saurian later on, but it’s consumed on use.

Nonetheless, now you know everything you need to complete this short but charming quest. Plus, you can now also go into Natlan and explore it to your heart’s content!
