When you come to an area where there are many Starshrooms, you will have to turn them into activated Starshrooms.

In order to do that, you have to stand near the normal Starshroom, then use the Electro element to turn the normal Starshroom into an Activated Starshroom.

Also, if you want to turn a normal Starshroom into a Scorched Starshroom, you need to use the Pyro element.
