Genshin Impact: A Short Encounter With a Rare Bird Guide

The newly released Sumeru region in Genshin Impact features many side quests that you can find anywhere on the map. Some quests require you to go to the dream state and shoot down withered flowers, while others need you to locate and defeat fierce creatures and many more.

But one of the quests that players are having a hard time is “A Short Encounter With a Rare Bird,” and we are going to show you how to complete it.

There are new animals unique and exclusive to the new region of Sumeru, including hostile creatures like the Spinocrocodile and Rishboland Tiger, and docile animals like the Dusk Bird. The quest A Short Encounter With A Rare Bird is all about this Dusk Bird.

Completing A Short Encounter With a Rare Bird Quest

Go to the area shown in the picture above. The quest starts when you attack the Shroomboars. An NPC will then call you out; go to the NPC and interact with him. The NPC Shekfet is going to ask for the Shroomboar meat that you just got.

Next, Shekfet is going to require samples of Dusk Birds south of Apam Woods, indicated by a blue diamond icon on the map. You must do this during sunny weather, so if it’s raining, simply change the weather by completing the Arankaya quest.

You can use the passive of the 5-star character Aloy so that Dusk Birds on’t fly away when you get close to them. Follow the Quest marker to the south of Apam Woods and kill the Dusk Bird. This will spawn some Eremites. Defeat them and Shekfet will appear.

He is going to tell you that feathers in this area are rather low in quality; you need to travel north and capture another Dusk Bird.

Go to the quest marker and kill the Dusk Bird, spawning some Forest Rangers. These rangers are going to stop you and warn you of Shekfet as a fraud, and has been known for hunting illegally.

With the new information, you are going to help them catch Shekfet. Go to the last quest marker in Apam Woods to corner him.

Kill the Dusk Bird in the area. Enemy Treasure Hoarders are going to spawn, defeat them and talk to the Forest Rangers to complete the quest.
