Tar in Enshrouded is potentially one of the most overlooked resources you can get. Especially early on in the game.

It is very useful when you want to protect your character from the elements in the game. Even though you will find it by roaming later on in the game, in the very beginning, you need to make it.

In today’s guide, learn how to easily make Tar and utilize its potential for maximum advantage early on. Without wasting any more of your precious time, let’s get to it!

How to Make Tar at the Beginning

First things first. To make Tar, you need a campfire. For the campfire, you need wood. Wood is ridiculously easy to obtain. In case you need help, just follow this logic.

Pick up stones, collect fibers and twigs from bushes (you don’t need any tools for this), and make an ax. Once you make an ax, simply approach a tree and chop it down.

For the campfire, you will need 2 pieces of wood only. Very cheap, very easy to craft. Once you do this, simply place the campfire on the ground.

Step 2, scour around for mushrooms. For these, you do not require any tools, just some patience and persistence in order to find some mushrooms and pick them up. They are a vital part of Tar making and as such cannot be left out.

Found your shrooms? Good. Head back to the campfire and click the E-key to start cooking. Cook the mushrooms and they will become Tar after a few seconds.
