Dungeonborne is an immersive first-person PvPvE dungeon crawler with worthy adversaries lurking through the treacherous corridors of Clousea Castle. Cryomancer is one of the most lethal Classes in the game.

For those who are new to Dungeonborne, we cover everything there is to know about the different Classes in our beginner’s guide. For now, we’re strictly speaking about Cryomancer’s ability to freeze enemies with a blizzard and how to survive it.

How to Survive the Blizzard

The Cryomancer mage is well-versed in ice magic and can conjure snowstorms to freeze an enemy charge with a blizzard. That said, we’ve uncovered a few weaknesses in the attack and will be discussing a few techniques to survive.

Interrupt the spell

There are two phases to Cryomancer’s Blizzard spell, the first phase is when the mage casts the spell and the second part is controlling it. These phases leave a lot of players confused as they are tasked to survive the blizzard and damage the mage.

Blizzard spell

The secret to surviving Cryomancer’s blizzard is to interrupt the first phase of the spell. Any damage interrupts the ability to cast the full spell. A crossbow shot or lighting potion are effective attack to use against the spell, as seen in the image above.

Cryomancer is predictable

Cryomancer’s incredibly powerful spells deal a lot of damage. That said, the mage is pretty much predictable in attack and is reliant on you to be aggressive.

Cryomancer can only use Blizzard when in range

The Cryomancer can only cast the Blizzard spell when they’re within range, as shown in the image above. Stay out of his range. You’ll be able to avoid being spun in a blizzard of frozen ice.

Use long-range attacks

Long range attacks or surprize attacks are efficient against Cryomancer

You can use long-range attacks or get the jump on the Cryomancer with a surprise close-range attack, as seen in the image above. It’s easier in a 3v3 arena, when you’re teammates can distract the mage of ice.

Be sure to take the advised precautions, so you don’t get caught in the Blizzard.
