Death Stranding 2 is one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year, and fans of Kojima’s games finally get a continuation to the complicated story that the first one showed us. As you journey through Australia connecting stuff together, you will run into all sorts of confusing stuff. Among them is the Motherhood, which will require a code that you will need to figure out. Here is how you get it!

Death Stranding 2 – Motherhood Door Code

Simply put, the Motherhood code will be different for every person, or at least almost every person. You see, it is not something that you can just copy out of a guide, which you would probably know by now if you had been paying attention to how this story driven game presents a lot of its lore.

If you open your databank, scroll down to The Motherhood and read the entire thing. The game reveals a lot through text, so if you are too lazy to actually read through them, then you are undoubtedly going to be very confused all the time.

The quest itself even tells you to “Be sure to consult the corpus before visiting”. If you missed that, then you will have literally zero clues as to what the code may be, as there will be nothing that will help you at the location itself.

At the bottom of the databank entry, it will very explicitly state the following: “The code required to open the door and overcome their suspicion is the date of your own birth.

Clearly, this is a reference to your own birthday, which you were asked to input at the start of the game. On top of that, there is a button (Square) that lets you reveal the code right at the databank entry, so there is no possible way you could have missed this unless you just never checked any of it at all.

That is really all there is to it. Once you have the code, which again, is just the birth date that you entered at the start, then you can go ahead and type it into the keypad in an MMDD format to open the door to The Motherhood.

While you are here, you should also check out our guide on how to rest in Death Stranding 2. Sam will need to take breaks every now and then, even while he is not in a private room with an actual bed. By learning how to rest out in the field, you will have an easier time making more deliveries and reaching quest objectives like this one!

He is a writer and avid gamer who spends a lot of his free time looking for the next game to add to his collection. If he’s not busy working, there’s also a non-zero chance that you stumble into him in pretty much any multiplayer game.
