Death Stranding 2 is one of the most anticipated titles of the year, and although it is not exactly something that appeals to everyone, it is still objectively a good game that was well worth the hype around it. There are a ton of easter eggs here, as Kojima has been doing that since forever now. Here is an example of one that you might encounter in the game!

Death Stranding 2 – Hideo Kojima Constellation Easter Egg

There is a huge number of easter eggs and cameos throughout the game, mostly in side content or completely trivial things like small references sprinkled around the map. There is even an appearance by a Japanese hololive vtuber who can make Sam shout her catchphrases, which was extensively covered in an interview with Kojima and the vtuber herself.

Among the many very simple and silly easter eggs in the game is a constellation with Kojima’s face in it. That is really all there is to it, there is no complicated step to follow, nor a super secret sequence to memorize or whatever.

Whenever you take a rest at a hot spring at night, you might see an option to “Look at the stars”. By holding L1 and starting this mechanic, you can look around and “reveal” constellations by hovering your camera over them.

Each of these constellations will give you one like upon revealing them. As you look around, you are going to see simple stuff like a hand or a dolphin. Eventually, or even right from the start, you can reveal Kojima’s face, which is just a silly addition and not at all hidden from the player.

In fact, it sticks out so much that it is impossible to miss. Because of his mustache and glasses alone, the incredibly bright clump of stars might even be the easiest constellation to “reveal”, which says a lot considering how easy it is to spot the others anyway.

And that is really all you need to know about it. There are a ton of these sprinkled all throughout the game, because in the words of Kojima himself, if he likes something, he will put it in the game.

If you somehow still have not made it to the point in the game where you can get hot springs, make sure to check out our guide on how to find all of the hot springs in Death Stranding 2 so that you can unlock the first few and gain the ability to dig up the rest of them scattered around Australia.
