Death Stranding 2 is one of the most highly anticipated games of this year, and while it is a bit of an acquired taste, nobody can deny how good Kojima’s relatively new IP has been so far. Although the game is well received, many aspects of it definitely still confuse a lot of people, and even the simplest tasks can take you a while to figure out. In this guide, we will go over this specific task and how you are supposed to complete it!

Death Stranding 2 – How to Mine for Materials at the Mine North of F1 | Get Chiral Crystals

In Australia, very early in the game, you will eventually be tasked with mining for materials at the mine north of F1. This place is just a bit to the north of West Fort Knot, and it is impossible to get lost along the way if you just pay attention to your map.

Once you get to that location, make sure to collect the chiral crystals scattered outside the mine itself. You are going to need a bunch of these, and there are a ton all around the place. Just gather as much as you can before entering the mine.

Upon entering he mine, approach the access terminal and activate it. Obviously, you should now select the “Mine” option because, well, that is exactly what the task is telling you to do. If you are wondering why we gathered chiral crystals outside, it is because you will need a bunch to actually do this.

You will need 2000 chiral crystals to initiate the mining process. If you do not have enough, simply head back out and gather some more before returning to the mine. It is really as simple as that. Once you have finished mining, there will be a bunch of special alloys that you can pick up.

Use the terminal again and then select the “use the monorail” option. Now select West Fort Knot as the destination and then load up all of the special alloys that the mine produced. Make sure to hand over all of it.

Do not use the special alloys on anything else, because you need every single bit that it produced to complete this objective. If you messed up at any point, go back outside and collect more chiral crystals to produce more of these resources.

Once everything is all set up, send the monorail on its way and that is all there is to it. All of the special alloys should now be delivered, and you are now done with this specific task early in the game.

That is really all there is to it. If you need more help with the game, check out our guide on how to increase your carry capacity in Death Stranding 2, so you can load Sam up with more of these heavy items. There are various ways to do this, but the vast majority of them are actually very painfully obvious as long as you pay attention to the game’s systems and menus.
