You will eventually acquire a rare resource known as Zybe in (the) Gnorp Apologue.
Zybes are extremely scarce, and you’ll have a very limited supply of them every single run of the game. Fittingly, though, they’re required for some of the best upgrades you can get!
In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know to get and use any Zybe you find.
Everything You Need To Know About Zybe
Zybe, also known as Zybellium, is an extremely rare resource in (the) Gnorp Apologue as you can only get 1 for every compression event.
Compression events happen whenever you have a large enough stockpile of loose shards. The bar under your stockpile lets you know how far or how close the next compression event is.
You can also start with a loose Zybe once you’ve acquired enough Talent Points to get the “Zybellium Mastery” talent. It’s one of the “free” talents that you don’t need to use points on, too!
Considering that the game ends after you manage to make it through 10 compression events, this means you can only have 9 Zybes without Zybellium Mastery.
If you do have Zybellium Mastery, you can get 10 in one run.
Now, you need to build the Rock Analysis Lab and get its “Zybellium Collection” upgrade if you want to actually get and use a loose Zybe.
You can see your collected Zybes at the top of the screen as well, shown as the star-shaped icon. The screenshot (sadly) shows 0 Zybes in the player’s stock!
To use any Zybe you have, you just need to look for upgrades in buildings that have the same star-shaped icon.
For example, the Teleportation upgrade from The Express shows that it requires 1 Zybe to unlock. Just click on it to purchase it as you would any other upgrade and you will spend the Zybe to get it.
Best Ways to Use Zybe
Now, how to smartly make use of your Zybe? Well, you should focus on getting the following upgrades in order:
The Garden building from House of Shards.
Zygnorp from the Academy. Try to have 2 or 3, if possible.
Timeshift Impact from the Gnorp Propulsion Lab.
King of the Pile from the Cocoa Café.
Gattlenorp from Gun V. Rock.
Of course, though, remember that these are general recommendations. Which Zybe upgrades you actually want will vary depending on your setup of talents.
Nonetheless, this order should work for most players as they get their feet wet and start learning about how to smartly use Zybes!
We hope this guide helped you learn everything you need about how to get and use Zybellium in (the) Gnorp Apologue. Hopefully, this helps you push past the Compression 10 finish line!
Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
