There are plenty of them available in the game, and you’ll come across quite a few of them. While they are optional, you can get some sweet rewards which makes them worth doing. The Bloody Cipher Machine is one such item you’ll obtain in the DLC. In this guide, we’ll show you all the steps you need to do to decrypt it. With that said, let’s dive in!
Bloody Cipher Machine Decrypt Guide
The Bloody Cipher Machine will take you to multiple locations in Lies of P: Overture. You’ll need to actually obtain it before you can also get to deciphering it.

Obtain Bloody Cipher Machine
The Bloody Cipher Machine can be obtained by defeating the Two-Faced Overseer boss. You’ll face this boss naturally while playing the main story of Lies of P: Overture, making this cipher machine impossible to miss!

After you obtain the Bloody Cipher Machine, make sure to talk to The Tracker standing outside the door. Talking to him will send him away and he will return to the Eventide Hotel Krat.
You’ll talk to him multiple times throughout the Bloody Cipher Machine quest, and for future decrypts. So, he’ll need to be at that location.
Talk To The Tracker Again
Once you’ve sent the tracker away, teleport to the Eventide Hotel Krat. Here, you’ll find The Tracker standing nearby.
Talk to him and Hand over the Bloody Cipher Machine to him.
He’ll give you some dialogue before decrypting the cipher – giving you a clue about a crocodile in a zoo. Even the Decrypted Text will show a picture of a crocodile inside a display. Your goal is to find this crocodile.
Find The Crocodile
With your next clue in hand, use the Stargazer to teleport to the Hall of Adventure.
When you arrive at the Hall of Adventure, your goal will be to go to the display cases found above towards the left side of the map.
Start by going up the stairs that you see from the Stargazer and turning to the left.
From here, go to the doorway shown below. You’ll come across a full horde of enemies here and we recommend clearing them out so you have an easier time exploring.
When you enter inside, you’ll see a bunch of display cases. Go to the broken case that has a crocodile sticking out of it.
Interact with the crocodile and you’ll get the option to Press the button. Doing so will reveal the Crocodile Necropsy Report, which reveals the truth of what happened at the zoo.
Return To The Tracker
With the report in hand, return to the Eventide Hotel Krat. Talk to the The Tracker and Report on Krat’s dark secrets.
After that, tell him About the secret of the mounted crocodile.
After commenting on the secrets and realizing that the event was a murder, he will give you the Whirlwind Amulet as your reward.
This Amulet offers the following benefits:
- Temporarily increases physical damage inflicted when a Dodge is successful.
If you’re someone who prefers to use dodging instead of parrying, you could certainly equip this amulet for your DLC run!
