That’s Among God’s in a nutshell. It is a story-driven gacha Collector game with an engaging story. The game uses squad-based mechanics where you set 5 heroes on the battlefield to defeat the opposing team’s army as you progress through the story.

What separates Among God from other games of its type is their use of iconic figures as heroes for you to collect and assemble into your squad.

Here, you can set Joan of Arc, the maid of Orlean together with Erik the Red or Julius Ceasar and battle with other historical heroes such as the Sword Saint Miyamoto Musashi or Cleopatra.

To keep things simple, we will be breaking down the hero Tier list into 4 categories. The Best Heroes, Top Pick, Situational Heroes and the fair heroes.

Best Heroes to have in Among Gods

Our best hero recommendations are Bloody Mary, Omnyoji, Warrior Goddess, Angel of Dawn, the Black Prince, and Supreme Archmage.

Bloody Mary is one of the top heroes to use right now. Her game Tier Rank is S which is one step below the highest tier of SS but her insane AOE damage skills coupled with crowd control that has a chance of stopping rage from the enemy is the reason why she’s ranked at the top.

Abe no Seimei (Onmyoji)

The second pick for our best hero Tier is Onmyoji. He is fairly easy to get. You can purchase him for arena coins and what he brings to the squad are his buffs and debuffs.

His skills let you speed up your rage meter to execute skills and his attacks have the potential of stopping rage from the enemy as well.

Warrior Goddess Tomyris

If you are looking to deal damage from the back row then Tomyris is your best pick. She has one of the highest-range damages in the game. What makes her more appealing is her totem skill which restores energy to her squad over time.

Angel of the Dawn

Angel of the Dawn Joan of Arc is an all-around hero. She has healing skills, high AOE damage and sports one of the highest HP in the game.

Edward, The Black Prince

If you’re looking for who is the Meta Tank in the Game then it’s hands down, the Black Prince. His high health and defense let him shrug off powerful skills and he can disarm opponents making him a must-have for any squad composition.

Supreme Archmage, Merlin

Merlin has good magic damage and crowd-control skills. What makes him much more appealing is that his fragments to level his star rating up are easy to farm for in the arena.

Once you’re in a guild you can also spam request his fragment from your guild since a good guild does arena content daily and most players have fragments to spare.

Top Pick Tier Heroes

One of the best Tanks to acquire is the King of Kings Darius The Great.

He can shrug off high damage easily and his skill can pull enemy heroes, setting them up while his squad decimates them with their AOE skills.

Caesar

Once you think of support, Caesar comes to mind. His skills focus more on buffs to increase your defence and damage output.

Guy Fawkes

If you’re looking to boost your damage output in your squad then Guy Fawkes is your man. Sporting one of the highest single damage attack. Watch as he makes short work on heroes with high health.

Be careful though, his high damage is a sharp contrast to his very low health so he tends to die pretty often in the early game.

Galenus

With the title of Pope of Medicine, you know what Galenus is good for. He is by far the best Healer in Among Gods.

One of the reasons why you should have him is for you to clear Stonehenge levels. It’s a series of battles where you fight without resting so having a good Healer is key to clearing the levels.

Hattori Hanzo

We can vouch for Hanzo’s performance in the squad. We got him early in the game and clearing early to mid-game levels was a breeze with this hero in your squad.

As an Assasin, he deals pretty high damage and focuses on the back row of enemies. That means killing off mages and healers early in the fight and once they fall, defeating the front-line enemies made our job much easier.

Knight Bayard

Another good tank pick is the Knight Bayard. His shield absorbs most damage and his lance hits multiple enemies which makes them focus their attacks on him.

If you want to bait your enemies to attack you while back lane damage dealers nuke out their AOE damages, then this one tank that you want on your team.

Charlemagne

Charlemagne is one of the highest mage damage dealers in the game. His skills are damage focused and can decimate enemy formations once he starts.

What makes him a nightmare to enemy squads is his insane ultimate skill damage. Maxing out his rage meter and using his skill guarantees a chance of medium to low hp enemies being annihilated.

Wang Zhaojun

Another good mage to have is the Dazzling Butterfly. Lady Wang deals ice damage that freezes enemies which is a good crowd-control skill to have.

She also burns rage from enemy heroes which slows their rage meter buildup for ultimates and skills.

Situational Heroes

Our first pick for situational heroes will be Harald. He is a good tank and he shines when paired with the Black Prince.

If you plan on a two-tank squad then the black Prince and Harald should be a priority.

Nero

Nero is a good mage to have in a squad. Unfortunately, his cast animation is so long with him dancing around so the time he gets to cast his skill leaves him open to rage stops from the enemy.

Keiji Maeda

Keiji is a tank who expends HP to cast his skills. Unless you have a good Healer or you have ranked him up to 224, he will be more of a liability to the squad than an asset.

Oda Nobunaga

If you plan on building a squad of evil faction heroes, Nobunaga should be on top of your list. He deals good ranged damage which perfectly augments the evil faction which focuses more on close and magic-damage heroes.

Mata Hari

Mata Hari only works efficiently with at least two tanks. The squad or with a Valkyrie combo. Being pretty squishy, you need your front liners to aggro enemies so she can pounce in and deal her high damage.

Once the enemies have their sights on her, chances are she will be out of the fight with a few hits.

Eric the Red, Giles De Rais and Cu Culham

These three heroes work best when used together in a squad. Eric acts as a tank for the team while Cu Chulain augments reds damage with lifesteal while doing damage as well.

Giles pools enemies while dealing rage and health damage. Used apart, they won’t be as effective as being in a team.

Roland

Roland becomes a good tank only if he can spam his skills. To use him effectively he must be paired with a Healer and a support hero that boosts up his rage meter. Examples of these are Caesar and Galenus.
