Markiona, the Puppeteer of Death is the second main boss fight in the Lies of P: Overture DLC, and she can be quite tough without knowing the right weaknesses.

Uniquely, Markiona is a bit of a duo fight. Markiona herself is your primary target, but she also enlists the help of a puppet to fight you. Guess she knows she can’t defeat P in a fair 1v1 duel, huh?

Read on, we’ll tell you Markiona’s weaknesses to help you get an edge against her and her puppet!

Markiona, the Puppeteer of Death Boss Weaknesses | Lies of P: Overture

Since Markiona counts as a duo boss essentially, she has multiple weaknesses. Markiona herself is a human, so she’s weak to both Acid and Fire damage. On the other hand, the Queen’s Arche Puppet is weak to Electric Blitz damage. After all, as the name tells us, it’s a puppet!

For this fight, we recommend focusing entirely on Markiona. You don’t actually need to take down the puppet as well, just defeating Markiona is enough to finish the fight. Besides, taking the puppet down only puts it out of commission for a period of time. During that time, Markiona herself will keep attacking you, anyway.

With all that in consideration, bring any Acid or Fire weapons you wish. Similarly, bring at least one Legion Arm that deals these elements, such as the Flamberge.

Alternatively, you can just bring non-elemental weapons and use items instead. The Fire Abrasive and Acid Abrasive consumables are a decent option to buff your weapon with. Alternatively, you can also opt for the Acid Grindstone and Fire Grindstone.

Throwable consumables, such as Thermite and Carcass Body Fluid Bottles are also pretty useful here. You can use them from range relatively safely, and they build up status effects quite quickly!

We recommend trying to be as aggressive as you can here, trying to proc both Overheat from Fire and Decay from Acid. Both of them combined will quickly melt Markiona’s health, even when you’re forced to go on the defensive.

Other Tips for This Fight

One of the main things to keep an eye out for during this fight is Markiona’s puppet. If you get carried away fighting Markiona herself, she can tell her puppet to attack you from behind. Pay attention to the string coming out of Markiona’s wrist. When it’s orange, the puppet is attacking or about to attack.

Markiona’s attacks are also relatively slow-paced, she doesn’t have the relentless aggressiveness that the Tyrannical Predator did. As such, you can use heavier weapons against her, which helps deal massive damage and get staggers more easily!

If you see Markiona get a golden glow, be careful. If she just floats in the air, she’ll have her puppet do two successive attacks. If you’re quick, you can dodge these and get a hit in. However, after that, Markiona and her puppet will stand on the ground for a moment before releasing a massive area-of-effect attack. Run away from Markiona and her puppet when they are on the ground.

Alternatively, Markiona can also start just walking backwards while calling her puppet to her when she gets the golden glow. If she does this, she will ride the puppet to do a couple of dashing attacks across the arena. Focus on just dodging these attacks until Markiona jumps off the puppet. You can get a good hit in when she slams the ground at the end of these attacks!

Lastly, if you aren’t using both the Flamberge and Pandemonium arms, it’s a good idea to bring a fully upgraded Falcon Eyes. Falcon Eyes’ Emergency Shot can help you get some damage in from range when you otherwise couldn’t!

Nonetheless, that’s all of the weaknesses for the Markiona, Puppeteer of Death boss fight in Lies of P: Overture. We hope this helps you win the fight.
