Essentially, it’s a diseased crocodile, much like the other animals in Krat Zoo. However, its massive size and relentless aggression make it extremely threatening, even for Lies of P veterans. Don’t worry, though, we’ll tell you all of its weaknesses to help you take it down once and for all!
Tyrannical Predator Boss Weaknesses | Lies of P: Overture
The main weakness of the Tyrannical Predator is any sort of Fire elemental damage. After all, this crazy crocodile boss seems to be infected by the petrification disease, as shown by the blueish spikes protruding from its body. That means, it counts as a Carcass-type enemy.
Due to that, we recommend bringing in any sort of Fire elemental weapon you can, such as a weapon with the Salamander Dagger Blade. Alternatively, bring non-elemental weapons and buff them with the Flame Grindstone or Fire Abrasive consumables.

Speaking of consumables, the Fire Canisters and Thermite can be pretty handy in this fight. Quickly chuck them at the Tyrannical Predator to keep your offense up even from range! They do pretty solid damage on their own, too.
As you might’ve guessed by now, the Flamberge Legion Arm can also come in handy here. If you have it fully upgraded, you can use it to deal massive Fire damage relatively quickly to the boss. It’s also great for proccing the Overheat effect, which can definitely melt the boss’ health over time.
Other Tips for This Fight
Aside from its weakness, we recommend trying to go for Perfect Blocks as much as possible against the Tyrannical Predator. It attacks basically nonstop, so managing to stagger it is your best bet to get a lot of damage in.
All of its attacks can be blocked besides when it charges you with its mouth open if you get too far. That’s the only grab attack it has.
On that note, it’s a good idea to focus on fast weapons so that you can get hits in quickly. You don’t get many openings during the fight, so slow weapons can be tough to use effectively here.
If you have the Puppet String fully upgraded, it’s a good idea to bring it alongside your Flamberge. The Puppet String III’s Attack Link can be pretty good for staggering the crocodile for good.
Also, once the crocodile is down, we recommend ensuring that you use Fire weapons to proc the Overheat effect before you land the Fatal Attack. If you have the charge available, this is an excellent opportunity to deal damage with the Flamberge! Quickly switching to a stronger weapon is also a good idea for the Fatal Attack itself, maximizing your damage.
If you got the Royal Horn Bow and planned to use it for this fight, we recommend being careful with it. It can be fairly slow, compared to how quickly the Tyrannical Predator attacks. Faster melee weapons would be better, truth be told.
So, there you have it! That’s the weaknesses of the Tyrannical Predator boss fight in Lies of P: Overture. It’s certainly an extremely challenging foe, especially with how early in the DLC it is. Nonetheless, you just need to be patient and we’re sure you’ll be able to defeat it soon.
