There are quite a few Professions to choose from in Brighter Shores, so it’s best to find out which Profession is the most useful and focus on it.

Professions are basically your life skills in this game. It includes things such as Fishing, Foraging, Gathering, and the like. Fans of Runescape, Andrew Gower’s famous previous game, should know exactly what to expect from these Professions!

In this guide, we’ll let you know which Professions are the best to focus on as you play the game.

Best Profession to Choose | Brighter Shores

In its current state, the best professions in Brighter Shores are Chef and Alchemist. The good thing is that you also don’t need to limit yourself when picking a profession in this game, either. You can advance multiple professions at once by simply doing their respective tasks, so you can be both a Chef and an Alchemist!

Chef Profession Breakdown

The Chef profession is available in Episode 1, Hopeport. As you might assume, it allows you to use various ingredients you gather or buy to create meals. Visit the kitchen at The Delectable Dab Restaurant when you wish to cook.

Now, you can’t eat these meals yourself, at least not currently. However, you can use them to earn money. Turn them into the NPCs who request them as bounties or sell them directly to the NPC Chefs at The Delectable Dab Restaurant. In fact, this is the best way to make money as AFK as possible! This is the best way to make money in the game, which is why Chef is so important as a Profession.

Alchemist Profession Breakdown

As for Alchemist, it’s also available in Episode 1, Hopeport. It allows you to use various ingredients to brew consumable Potions. You can practice Alchemy at the Apothecary on Stone Street in Hopeport.

There are many types of Potions, but all of them are useful in some way. Some of them heal you while others give you strong buffs (including XP Gain buffs). There are even some Potions that you can use to inflict status effects on enemies during combat! Due to the overall versatility of these Potions, Alchemist is one of the most useful Professions to learn as you progress through the game.

Other Useful Professions

Aside from the Chef and Alchemist Professions, we also want to give a shoutout to Forage (Episode 1) and Gatherer (Episode 2). These are basic Professions that you level up naturally as you collect items while exploring the world.

Most notably, the items you gather with these Professions can also be used as ingredients for either the Chef’s Meals or the Alchemist’s Potions. These Professions simply go hand in hand! Gather and Forage as much as you can so you have a steady supply of ingredients for recipes.

That’s the end of our guide, but well… now you know what the best Profession to choose in Brighter Shores is! Make sure to not ignore any of these Professions and you should have a good time playing this game.

Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
