Pokemon GO is an established game on mobile. It is one of the first augmented reality games of its kind which sat really well on mobile phones in 2016.

With over six years running, and more than 15 million game installs on android alone, Pokemon GO shows no signs of stopping even after all this time.

The Game puts you in the shoes of a pokemon catcher. You switch on your mobile data and GPS and explore the World using your phone camera as a screen.

You will sometimes get with pokemon in the wild and you catch them with your poke balls.

Depending on your throw and various game items that you use, the success rate for catching these pokemon can be either good or downright appealing.

The Pokemon GO Community has been abuzz with different strategies or glitch exploits on how to catch very rare pokemon. And in this guide, we will be showing you one topic that has caught the attention of a lot of Pokemon GO players.

It’s called the Galarian Bird Catch Trick. It exploits a glitch in the system to either raise your chance or even guarantee a pokemon capture on one of three Galarian Bird Pokemon, Articuno, Moltres or Zaptos.

How to Do the Galarian Bird Catch Trick in Pokemon Go

This glitch has been around for quite some time. Right after the Galerian Bird Pokemon became available a few months back, various players have been posting on social media platforms about how to use a glitch in the Pokemon GO system that was later coined as the Galarian Bird Catch Trick/technique.

This came under our radar when one Pokemon GO Player posted his Live stream on YouTube where he attempted to do the technique with jaw-dropping results.

How We found out about it

According to Tom Kruse, the content creator of the YouTube Channel The Kruse Ship, he first got wind of the glitch when one of his viewers on his live stream shared a link to a video posted by JASH on YouTube using the Galarian Bird Catch Trick to capture a Moltres.

How it Works

The Reddit thread which was reposted by MYSTCLIPS7 says that the Pokemon GO system raised your catch rate the more Pokeballs you use. This is originally for Raid Pokemon but apparently, this system also activates when attempting to catch wild Pokemon in the game.

The Galarian Bird Catch Trick is done by exploiting the system by intentionally doing bad throws on the Pokemon to raise the catch rate before attempting a successful throw.

How to do it

You start by purposely missing your Pokeball throws. You are going to waste a lot of Pokeball for this so we hope you have an ample amount for this trick.

Wait for 3 seconds before throwing another ball. This will give the system time to register your spent Pokeball as a bad throw which will raise your catch rate.

Throw a Berry to Raise your chances further

On your 18 to 20th throw, feed the Zaptos some Berries to raise your catch rate further. Continue making bad throws until you reach your 38th Pokeball.

Capturing Zapdos

After wasting your 38th Pokeball, it’s the moment of truth. If the system works then you would have gained a good amount of capture chance for this one throw.

Time your throw right after Zapdos dodges and line your aim to get an excellent throw. Doing so will, in theory, let you catch Zapdos in one try.

In his live stream, Tom actually made a normal throw which was painful to watch but we guess it landed a critical because he managed to capture a Zapdos on that last try.

Congratulations Tom, now it’s your turn to try it out for yourself using the Galarian Bird Catch Technique and tell us if you finally got a Legendary Pokemon for yourself.

It didn’t work for me. I just literally tried it on a Galarian zapdos and it jumped out. And ran.
