While you’re grabbing your friends to set out on this adventure with you, you might stop to wonder if you can host your own dedicated servers. 

Dedicated servers allow you to have more customization and control over your servers. That is why it’s always a welcome feature to see in co-op games. 

Can You Host Dedicated Servers?

Thankfully, you can host your own dedicated servers for Enshrouded. The developers have confirmed this through their Steam and Discord, to the delight of many fans and players.

Creating your own dedicated server is going to be the best way to experience the multiplayer gameplay of Enshrouded.

With a dedicated server, you can set it up to have it be online even when you’re absent from your computer. This allows your friends to carry on their gaming sessions without having their experience disrupted by you going offline.

The official server partner for the game is going to be GPortal, where servers are up for pre-order now!

This doesn’t mean that this is your only option, however. There are many server providers online, and there’s a decent chance that they’ll also feature dedicated server options for Enshrouded.

You can also set up your own server if you are technically skilled enough.

The downside of using server providers is that they usually cost money, and depending on your uses that money can be a formidable amount.

Enshrouded allows up to 16 online players in a game at once. This amount can prove to be quite taxing if your server isn’t up to snuff.

The benefits are that they are usually very easy to use relative to setting up your own server. They also typically run the game in a more stable and smoother state as they have stronger hardware set up for hosting servers.
