Just a day after its release, Battlefield 6 has already skyrocketed to the top of Steam charts as one of the biggest games ever played. As a matter of fact, it’s currently the 2nd most played game as far as daily players is concerned – peaking at 747,440 players after it launched!
Needless to say, Battlefield 6 is EA’s most successful shooter ever.

Unfortunately, it’s not always sunshine and rainbows, as the game is also plagued with a host of issues that players are struggling with.
For starters, there’s the EA app outage on PC which made it impossible for players to even boot the game in the first place. Even Battlefield boss Vince Zampella suggested affected players to “refund and buy on Steam” instead.
Then there’s the missing content bug which prevented some players to play the multiplayer mode.
However, there’s another recent issue that popped up which prevented some players to even enjoy the game’s singleplayer campaign. This refers to certain players getting disconnected from the singleplayer campaign due to Battlefield 6’s always online requirement.
Why Users are Disconnected from the Singleplayer Campaign
A Reddit user who goes by the username u/WintorOperator took to Reddit and posted his concern to the r/pccmasterrace subreddit.
According to u/WintorOperator, the game’s always online requirement makes playing the singleplayer campaign borderline unplayable due to disconnection issues. From what it seems, this issue affects players who have poor internet connections.

So, if you have poor internet connection, you just might be out of luck, as a Connection Lost window will pop up which automatically pauses the game. Here, you’ll either have to click on the Retry Connection button, ask EA for assistance, or just stop playing the game entirely.
Even if you managed to reconnect to the game, chances are, you’ll just get the same error message if you have poor internet connection.
Other players also aired their grievances in the post, with one comment saying “I wanted to play the campaign first. So when I booted it up as soon as it was available, I had to wait in line to connect. I was #450,000. Just to play single player.”
Sadly, this might just be the reality for most games these days. While the frustration is understandable, seeing an always online requirement shouldn’t have a place in a singleplayer campaign, there needs to be a massive shift in the status quo.
Then again, some players pointed out that the campaign wasn’t all that great story-wise. But I bet most of us play the game for the fun action and gameplay anyway.
