You’ll eventually come across a locked basement door in the safe house as you explore in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and you must decrypt the code to open it.
Decrypting the code is relatively simple, at least on paper. You just need to use the fingerprints on the keypad to figure out the right combination of numbers. However, this involves a lot of trial and error, working similarly to a classic game of Mastermind.
In this guide, we’ll tell you how the puzzle works and give you tips to more easily decrypt the code for the safe house’s basement door!
How to Decrypt the Code for the Basement Door | Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
The basement door code is, as we mentioned in our introduction, just a Mastermind-style guessing game. That means that the puzzle itself relies much more on trial and error than anything else.
However, it’s also worth noting that the solution is completely randomized each time you interact with the keypad. As you can guess, this also means that the exact passcode is completely different for every player. So, we can’t just tell you the answer straight up, you’ll need to guess the code while playing the game.
The main thing to know is that you can use your Blacklight on the keypad to reveal fingerprints. The more marked a fingerprint is, the more that number has been pressed. This, in turn, means that the number has a higher likelihood of being part of the solved code.
To guess a code, simply press the numbers you want on the keypad and then push the lock-shaped icon on the bottom right. If you want to delete a number, click on the button with the left arrow on the bottom left. You can input up to 5 numbers for the basement door’s code. You also only have 5 different guesses before the code resets and changes to something else.
Pay close attention to the “Decryption Log” on the right side of the screen. These are hints based on your guesses. Each number will be marked as follows:
Red X – The number doesn’t belong in the code at all. You can safely ignore it with your other guesses.
Yellow Arrows – The number is used in the code, but it’s not in the right column. Move it around when inputting your other guesses.
Green Checkmark – The number is used in the and is in the right column. Make sure to always keep this number in the same spot with your following guesses!
Now all that’s left for you to do is simply keep guessing using the hints the game gives you. As we said, the code is random and relies mostly on trial and error. Nonetheless, you’re sure to get it if you pay attention to the hints and have some patience. It shouldn’t take you long to decrypt the code to the safe house’s basement door in Black Ops 6 now that you know how it works!
