There’s a bathysphere that seems to be central to the experiments that took place in this lab. However, it’s unreachable while it’s still submerged in water. So, get rid of the water and you’ll be able to investigate it more closely. Draining the water isn’t quite as simple as it sounds, though!
In this guide, we’ll help you quickly drain the water in the bathysphere’s tank during Emergence.
How to Drain the Water in the Tank in the Emergence Mission | Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
You’ll need to drain the water in the tank once you reach the terminal overlooking a bathysphere in the Cognitive Research Wing. As you can see above, though, the terminal will error out due to the excess water.

To start draining the water, walk away from the terminal while facing it. You should spot a grappling point taking you to the upper part of the room.
Now, look for a red tunnel in the water around the bathysphere. Once you see it, dive in and swim through the tunnel until you reach the Drainage Area.
Once there, take the ladder out of the water. Then, go through the only door to your right but be careful of the enemies there.
After you eliminate the enemies, check the leftmost door and decrypt its keypad. If you got disoriented while dealing with the enemies, use the image above as a reference.
To decrypt the keypad, use your Blacklight to reveal the most commonly-pressed buttons. Then, try different combinations using the reference on the right side of the screen. You’ll complete the decryption once all numbers have green checkmarks. Sadly, though, the password is random so we can’t just tell you what it is…
In essence, this puzzle is pretty much identical to the one you can find in the safe house’s basement in Black Ops 6’s campaign.
After that, turn around and go to the opposite room. You’ll end up in the room overlooking the water you swam through to reach this area.
Inside this room, interact with the yellow terminal and initiate the drain switch override. You’ll now need to find 3 switches and flip them within 25 seconds. If you fail to do it within the time limit, you’ll need to return to the terminal and restart the override!
Completing the Drain Override
Alright, time to flip some switches! The first one is right behind you in the same room as the terminal. Just turn around after initiating the override and flip it.
After you flip that one, exit the room with the terminal and go straight ahead into the room with the keypad you decrypted before. The switch will be to your right as you enter the room.
For the last one, leave the room and go back to the room with the water. Look to the opposite side of the room and you should see a balcony you can grapple onto.
The switch will be on your left as you land on the balcony. Flip it and you’re all done with the drain override!
That’s all you need to do to drain the water in the tank as part of the “Emergence” mission in Black Ops 6. All that’s left for you to do is to return to the bathysphere using the same red tunnel from earlier. Do be warned, though, you’ll have to face a fearsome foe once you get there!
