Genshin Impact: Find a Way to Communicate with the Yumkasaurus

While exploring a set of caves near Tectic Peak in Genshin Impact, you’ll come across a very unique Yumkasaur called the Strange Yumkasaurus. This Yumkasaur will not respond to anything you do, making interactions with it pretty much pointless.

The Strange Yumkasaur will be blocking the path to a treasure chest that you can loot. So to get the Yumkasaur out of the way, you will need to communicate with it. In this guide, we will be looking at what you can do to communicate with this Yumkasaur.

Find a Way to Communicate with the Yumkasaurus

The Strange Yumkasaurus can be found inside a set of caves right next to the Teticpac Peak location. Just next to the entrance of this cave, you will find a Monetoo puzzle that you can solve to earn yourself a Precious Chest. You can learn more about that through our complete guide on it.

In order to communicate with the Strange Yumkasaurus, you will need to use a Yumkasaur yourself. If you weren’t aware of it already, Genshins latest update lets you use Yumkasaur’s in many different quests and objectives.

You can find a Yumkasaur pretty quickly by exiting the cave through the entrance just above the Strange Yumkasaurus. When you get out, just go forward a bit and you’ll most likely find a Yumkasaur over there. Take control of the Yumkasaur and head back to the Strange Yumkasaurus inside the cave.

Interacting with the Strange Yumkasaurus using a Yumkasaur will allow you to understand what it is saying. Pretty much the only thing that the Strange Yumkasaurus will say is that he wants to eat. Giving the Yumkasaurus food here will make it move out of the way.

The game doesn’t exactly tell you what food the Strange Yumkasaurus wants, and when you interact with it to give it food, you can give it anything from your inventory. Giving the Strange Yumkasaurus Raw Meat for example will be good enough and make him move out of the way. Meat is also a pretty common food item to have, so there’s a good chance that you will have it on you.
