Modify Any W-Engine Once Guide – Zenless Zone Zero

No matter which agents you play in Zenless Zone Zero, you will want to equip them with the right W-Engines. W-Engines are equipment that will increase your agents’ stats and give them other additional bonuses.

As you progress through the game, you can upgrade your W-Engines and make their bonuses even better. There’s a max level that you can upgrade your W-Engines to. Once you hit that cap, you will need to modify your W-Engines before you can upgrade them further. We will be looking at how you can modify your W-Engines in Zenless Zone Zero.

Modify Any W-Engine Once Guide

Modifying W-Engines in Zenless Zone Zero will require you to have Components. There are different Components that you can get, and the one you need will depend on what your W-Engine type is. For example, if your W-Engine is a Stun type, then you will need Stun Components to upgrade it.

In this guide, we will be looking at how you can get the Components, and how to use them to upgrade the W-Engines. First off though, let’s go over how to modify these W-Engines if you want a straight answer!

How to Modify W-Engines

With the Components now in your inventory, all that’s left to do is upgrade your W-Engine.

First, select the W-Engine from your inventory that you want to modify. In the top right corner, you will see the W-Engines level with 2 green arrows next to it. This can be seen in the image above. Click on the arrows and that will open up the modification option.

Using the required Components and coins, you can modify your W-Engine and increase its max level to 20. The process is the same for other W-Engines in this game, with the only difference being the Components you need.

How to Get Components

The Components needed to upgrade W-Engines can be obtained from the HIA Club.

Once you get to the HIA Club, walk up to the main desk and start a conversation with Ms.Bertha. If this is your first time visiting the club, the game will point you towards her.

During your conversation with her, she will ask you if you want to participate in the VR trial. Select the “I’m here to participate in the VR trial” to access the trials.

Finish up your conversation with her, after which you can access the trials you need to complete to get the modifying Components.

Once you finish talking to Ms.Bertha, there will be 3 options you can select for the types of trials you want to access. For the first W-Engine upgrades, select the Promotion option highlighted in the image above. There is another option that says W-Engine Modification, but this is for later modifications.

The Promotion option will lead you to the menu where you can select the type of Components you want, and what enemies you want to face. Starting simulations in Zenless Zone Zero requires you to build a lineup of enemy cards. The lineup you choose will determine the enemies that you will face in the simulation and the rewards you get.

Once you complete the challenge, you’ll be rewarded with the Components you selected earlier. You can start these simulations multiple times, allowing you to earn different types of Components.
