Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth allows characters to perform some of the best attacks in combination with their allies, known as a Synergy Skill.
Every party member has a variety of unique Synergy Skills at their disposal, combining their unique strengths together. Using these skills will be key to victory, as they can charge up ATB quickly!
In this guide, we look at what we consider the best Synergy Skill in the game.
Best Synergy Skill | Bullet Batter and Howling Smash
There are actually two best Synergy Skills in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. This is because there are two extremely strong skills that work identically, with some very minor differences.
These Synergy Skills are Barret’s Bullet Batter and Red XIII’s Howling Smash. Both of these are available for Cloud!
Barret’s Bullet Batter
This synergy skill makes Barret shoot in Cloud’s direction. Then, Cloud reacts and reflects the bullets toward any enemies in front. This does pretty good Physical damage and has fantastic range.
Red XIII’s Howling Smash
On the other hand, the Howling Smash works similarly, with Red XIII throwing a magic projectile which Cloud bats toward enemies. The only difference from Bullet Dance is that it does Magical damage instead.
The sword swings deal extra damage at close range, too!
What truly makes both of these Synergy Skills stand out is just how incredibly easy they are to use, as their ranged properties mean you don’t need to worry about positioning or anything of the sort.
Similarly, they can launch weak foes into the air with ease and makes it easy to juggle enemies. What’s more, you’ll generate a lot of ATB for both Cloud and his partner.
It’s also worth noting that both Synergy Skills work differently for Cloud’s Operator and Punisher modes.
In Operator mode, Cloud will bat up to 3 consecutive projectiles in quick succession. In Punisher mode, Cloud will just bat one stronger projectile that hits twice.
If you’re quick, you can combo the Operator and Punisher versions of these Synergy Skills, as they can be canceled into each other.
However, it’s easier to just alternate between Bullet Dancer and Howling Smash by having both Red XIII and Barret in your party.
Nonetheless, now you know what the best Synergy Skill is for an easy victory!
