Ark Survival Ascended contains a large selection of creatures. These creatures come in various shapes and sizes and have different abilities. Mainly, you can use these dinosaurs to your advantage.

Ark Survival Ascended has a lot of dinos in the game, with many of them serving different purposes. For this list, we will be focusing mainly on the top 10 dinos you can use for boss fights.

Top 10 Dinos for Boss Fights in 2024

Dinos in Ark Survival Ascended all have different stats attached to them for health and attack damage. They also offer other abilities alongside their stats.

For this top 10 list, we will be looking at base stats and anything else the dino might bring to a boss fight.

It isn’t just about the dinos with the highest DPS.

You can always upgrade your dinos with your gear and their level.

The list is in ascending order with the strongest dinos coming in later on the list. That being said, none of the dinos mentioned are bad. Some are just better than others.

10. Allosaurus

We start off the list with the Allosaurus, a medium-sized carnivorous dino. Compared to larger carnivores, the Allosaurus doesn’t have high enough stats, but it makes that up with the increased speed it has. The Allosaurus has a base health of 630 and damage of 35.

The Allosaurus especially shines in a pack, as it gets a large buff when used alongside other Allosaurus.

Bosses in Ark Survival Ascended are immune to debuffs, and a lot of the Allosaurus’s damage comes from its bleed effect. This is a negative, but the Allosaur is still a formidable dino for boss fights.

9. Chalicotherium

Second on our list is the Chalicotherium, a very well-rounded herbivorous creature. It has a base health of 600 and a damage rating of 36/32. The base stats are not the best compared to other dinos on the list but they are good enough.

Being a herbivore, the Chalicotherium takes less damage from bosses such as the Dragon and Overseer. It’s still not the best option for these fights but also not the worst.

8. Woolly Rhino

The ancestor to the rhino we know of today, the Woolly Rhino makes for a very fun and formidable dino in Ark Survival Ascended for boss fights.

The Woolly Rhino has the lowest base health of 500 on this list. Its base damage of 40 is also not the best, but it more than makes up for it by having a bonus damage multiplier on charge attacks.

The Woolly Rhino through upgrades and its charge attacks can take on most of the boss fights at even harder difficulties.

7. Stegosaurus

The Stegosaurus is one of the tankiest dinos in the game. It has a base health of 650, but alongside that, it has a bonus effect where all incoming damage is reduced by 50%. The damage rating isn’t the best at 42, but the Stegosaurus being so tanky makes up for that.

The big downside of the Stegosaurus is its maneuverability in boss fights. this can especially be felt during the Overseer boss fight, as the arena can be tricky to traverse with a Stegosaurus.

6. Mammoth

The Mammoth is a big jump in stats from the other dinos on this list. It has a higher base health than the Stegosaurus at 850, but it doesn’t have the 50% reduction the Stegosaurus has. Its attack is higher though at 48/69, making it a better aggressive option.

The Mammoth in Ark Survival Ascended is a jack of all trades and is very good for all boss fights in the game. Its great size and tankiness also make it very hard for bosses to take down the Mammoth and push it around.

The Mammoth really shines when it is used alongside other smaller dinos in boss fights.

5. Megatherium

The Megatherium has a base health of 740 and base damage of 32. Both of these values are not the highest but there is something else that makes the Megatherium so unique.

The Megatherium is probably the best dino for the Broodmother boss fight due to its special ability. This large dino has an insect-killer buff that makes it extremely strong against the Broodmother. This is due to the boss being a spider and having smaller spiders alongside it in the arena.

By focusing on the smaller spiders in the arena, you can maximize the buff and take care of the Broodmother with very little difficulty.

4. Yutyrannus

The Yutyrannus is a large carnivorous dino that can be found primarily in the snowy biomes of Ark Survival Ascended. It has impressive base stats of 1100 health and 55 damage.

The Yutyrannus are very good to have in your army of dinos due to their courage roar special ability. this unique roar will make your dinos take less damage and also increase the damage they deal. It also has a fear roar ability, but this doesn’t work on bosses in Ark Survival Ascended.

3. Spinosaurus

The first entry in our top 3 is the Spinosaurus. A carnivorous dino, the Spinosaurus is very big in size and great for element farming in Ark Survival Ascended. The Spinosaurus has a base health of 700 and base damage of 40/60.

The Spinosaurus has a special hydration ability, giving the dino bonus stats when it comes in contact with water. This is especially useful in the Broodmother fight, as there is water in that boss arena.

2. Therizinosaurus

The Therizinosaurus is the penultimate entry on this list and the highest herbivore on this list. The Therizinosaurus has a base health of 870 and base damage of 52. This dino is a very nimble creature with great speed accompanying its decent health and damage.

The Therizinosaurus is very good against the Dragon and Overseer. Its great speed and maneuverability really shine in these fights, especially in the Overseer arena which can be tricky for many dinos. Their being Herbivores is also really beneficial in the last two fights.

1. Tyrannosaurus Rex

The final entry and the best dino on this list is the Tyrannosaurus Rex, also known as the Rex. The Rex is one of the most iconic dinosaurs you can get. It has one of the best overall base stats with 1100 base health and 62 base damage.

In Ark Survival Ascended what makes the Rex such a good option is its versatility. The Rex has very good size and survivability for a carnivore and that combos well with its good attack damage.

For anyone looking for a simple dino focused on left-clicking and hitting the boss hard, The Rex is the best option for you. The Rex might be simple, but it is the best at what it does and in boss fights, high stat ratings are always very good.
