Kill your Gnorps during a compression event.

In (the) Gnorp Apologue, there are achievements that can be unlocked immediately! The Y2K achievement requires having 20 drones die at the same time and this guide will break down the best way to accomplish this.

Y2K Achievement Guide

Early gameplay from (the) Gnorp Apologue

To unlock the achievement, you’ll need to have 20 active drones die simultaneously before triggering a compression event.

A compression event is triggered when the number of Shards being harvested greatly outweighs the amount being collected.

For this achievement, the best time to trigger it is during your first compression event.

As you progress through the game, the cost of each individual drone will grow exponentially. Completing it early is in your best interests.

You won’t be able to afford to kill off 20 drones once you reach those higher levels, where you’ll need them to trigger the compression events.

We’d also recommend that for this achievement you unlock the ‘Bigger Pile’ perk. This will stop the accidental triggering of a compression event before you have the correct amount of active drones to kill during it.

You’ll also want to make sure you don’t accidentally kill of any of your drones prematurely.

This is done by clicking on them and blowing them up.

You will notice that the counter present on ‘The Robotics Building’ only displays the number of drones purchased on that particular compression level – not the amount of active drones.

Before blowing them up, make sure you have the correct amount and aren’t wasting your drones!

For example, if you had 20 drones and was to kill one off you would have 19 left. The Robotics Building counter will not accurately reflect this – so don’t get confused!

Once you have killed 20 drones during a compression, the Y2K achievement will unlock. It will pop up at the top of your screen and be viewable on Steam.

There you have it! Meanwhile, if you’re having a hard time understanding how Zybe works in (the) Gnorp Apologue, check out our guide for that mechanic as well!
