Escape from Tarkov: Arena is one of the most popular first-person shooters out there at the moment. With stunning graphics and realistic combat, it’s easy to see why this game is one of the highest-rated ones in the world of gaming.

In this article, we’ll go over the CQB class tree preset and give you some end-game kit reviews followed by a bunch of tips and tricks along the way. Without wasting any more of your precious time, let’s get to it!

Escape from Tarkov: Arena 1

CQB Tree/Progression

When it comes to the CQB class, we will start from tier 5. The reason for this is that getting to tier 5 is very easy and you will most probably reach it in your first Arena session. As such, there is no need for us to go over all of them in this article.

Centurion

Centurion is the first preset you can choose once you reach tier 5 in the CQB progression tree. The armor on this preset is quite remarkable for the tier level it belongs to as it gives you a significant fighting chance when you engage in firefights.

In addition to this, you are equipped with the AK-103 and the T-45 ammo which boasts low recoil and good accuracy in most situations.

Mantis

The Mantis is another tier 5 kit and it comes with an SKS and US ammo with a drum magazine attached to it. In all honesty, it is not the best kit and Centurion so far seems like a more viable option from the two. Be very careful if you are going to pick Mantis as it requires a lot of skill to progress with this preset.

Bromine

Yet another tier 5 preset which is not that good considering your other options up until this point. Bromine comes with a G36 assault rifle and M856 ammo. Not a bad weapon but not top tier either.

Before we forget, Bromine is a tank among presets as you get more armor than you need. In turn, you are slow as a turtle and just a sitting duck for players with relatively good aim. D-tier…

Split

This kit can be considered one of the best kits in the entire game. Equipped with the 556 MDR and M856A1 ammo it is an absolute beast in combat, mowing down enemies no matter how far they are. It is a tier 6 kit.

It also comes with level 5 armor making you very well equipped to take on any foe.

DEVGRU

DEVGRU is a tier 7 kit. It comes with a fully modded P90 and SS190 ammo which is one of the best weapons in the game at the moment. Equipped with level 5 armor, DEVGRU can even be better than Split in many aspects.

Do note that once you get the DEVGRU kit, you will not be able to progress further as it is on the end of the tree line.

Zenith

Zenith is another tier 7 kit. Equipped with the AK-105, Altyn, and BT, Zenith is a force to be reckoned with. According to Tickle me Pink, “You will feel like the main character using this kit”.

And we have to agree. Zenith stands out due to its versatility and fighting power. Be sure to go for this one!

Cavalier

The penultimate from the tier 7 kits, the Cavalier comes with the MPX submachine gun and the PBP ammo. This weapon has little to no recoil whatsoever in combination with enormous mags and high rates of fire. It is the ultimate killing machine.

If your aim is good, it only adds to the argument to pick this kit over the others.

Remember that its armor is subpar when compared to the rest so might want to consider it.

Calamary

The last of the tier 7 kits is the Calamary. Equipped with the 9mm Vector and Quake Maker ammo, this preset has the potential to become one of the best kits in the entire game.

This, however, depends entirely on the upcoming changes to the armor system. Be sure to follow us for more info on the upcoming updates!

Butcher

The Butcher kit comes with the SA-58 assault rifle, M62, and Rys-T. Imagine this kit as the stronger version of Zenith. It boasts bigger magazines, better armor, and better weapons making this arguably the best kit in the entire game.

Nightmare

Nightmare is arguably one of the most underrated kits in the entire game. Equipped with the MCX 300 BLK and AP ammunition, this gun shreds.

Additionally, it has a drum mag with negligible recoil making your enemies run for their lives as you pull up with this beast!

Guardian

Guardian and Butcher which we mentioned earlier are unlocked at the same time. However, Guardian is slightly better, if you know how to use it. What you want to do with this kit is adapt to longer-range firefights and less armor than the Butcher set piece.

It comes equipped with the RPK and 7N40 ammo.

Haymaker

Although ranked very high, the Haymaker is not that good of an option compared to the rest. Equipped with the G36, it is by no means trash but it is significantly more difficult to use and you will probably struggle early on to get kills with this kit.

Be careful when choosing it.

Escape from Tarkov: Arena 4

Boar

The Boar comes with a Saiga-12 with Magnum Buckshot ammo capable of absolutely annihilating your enemies. However, Boar also comes with an unnecessarily large amount of armor making this the slowest kit of the bunch.

In turn, you are a walking clay pigeon only able to profit from close-quarters combat instead of making use of your surroundings to dispatch your enemies. D tier.

Ratatouille

Ratatouille comes with the PKM that has ridiculous recoil but in turn, it deals significantly higher amounts of damage to your enemies. Contrary to the community’s wishes, the PKM cannot be mounted on anything (yet).

The kit in its own right is not bad. However, there are more viable options to choose from than the Ratatouille kit.
