The new Trial of the Three Spirits update for Lords of the Fallen 2 lets us get our hands on some sweet new gear, such as the Rhogar Armor set.
Of course, though, it’s not as easy as just grabbing the set somewhere. This armor set requires us to complete a quest and defeat the new General Engstrom boss!
In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know to claim this new set of armor for yourself.
How to Get Rhogar Armor Set | General Engstrom’s Armor Set
As always, there are a few prerequisites you need to meet to start the guest for the Rhogar Armor set. In this case, you’ll need to get three different gestures:
Crimson Ritual Fervor – You can get it from the Shrine of Adry close to the Vestige of Betrayed Eliard, in Fitzroy’s Gorge.
Laughter – Also found within Fitzroy’s Gorge. Kill Crimson Rector Percival and then talk to Damarose the Marked near the cliffside. She’ll move to the Shrine of Adyr after the conversation. Meet her at the Shrine of Adyr and she’ll give you the Laughter gesture.
Pledge to Adyr – Found in Upper Calrath, next to a broken catapult close to the large tree with the hanging bodies.
Once you have all of these gestures, head to the giant tree in Fitzroy’s Gorge. You can reach it most easily from the Vestige of Betrayed Eliard.
Use the Pledge to Adyr gesture in front of the tree and you should see a message saying “With aim cold and unerring, extinguish the blazing hands”.
What this somewhat vague message means is that you need to acquire the Wintry Ordinance and use it to extinguish 5 blazing hands located throughout the world.
Getting the Wintry Ordinance & the First Blazing Hand
To get the so-called “Wintry Ordinance”, you need to head to the Fief of the Chill Curse. To start, warp to the Vestige of Svornil.
Go up the ladders by the vestige and climb to the very top of the platforms.
Now, go up the slopes until you reach the long road full of wrecked carriages.
Go down the road until you spot a barricaded gate. Approach the gate and climb the ladder next to it.
As soon as you’re up the ladder, you will find a blazing hand on a tree and the “Wintry Ordinance” on the ground by the gate.
Pick up the Wintry Ordinance (it’s just a snowball!) and throw it at the blazing hand! One down, four more to go.
This is, more or less, the process you’ll need to repeat for all remaining hands. Now, let’s go over where to find all of the blazing hands.
Where to Find the Remaining Blazing Hands
Fitzroy’s Gorge – Start from the Vestige of Betrayed Eliard and follow the path to your left until you reach a bridge.
Turn left of the bridge and go into the tunnel, then enter the Umbral Realm.
Go up the slope to your right and follow the path, sticking to your right.
You’ll eventually reach a gate in front of you, go through to exit the Umbral Realm.
The blazing hand hangs above a headless statue right in front of the gate.
Smack it with a snowball!
Upper Calrath – Found in the courtyard where you get the Noblewoman armor set, most easily reachable if you have the Skyrest Bridge shortcut open.
Alternatively, start from the Vestige of the Forgotten Guardian and take the exit to your left.
As soon as you go out of the room with the vestige, turn to your right and follow the only path available until you reach a large area with lots of charred corpses.
Take the rightmost exit out of the area and keep following the path forward until you reach some sort of storage building.
Once inside the building, take the first left and then walk forward some more.
Take the second left after turning and follow the path to exit into the town.
Now just keep walking forward down the only path available and you’ll reach the courtyard, where you can see the blazing hand hanging from a tree.
Just throw your handy snowball at it, as usual.
Halfway Point
Bramis Castle – Found past the flaming staircase in the castle. Start from the Vestige of the Bloody Pilgrim and head inside the castle until you find a staircase engulfed in flames.
Enter the Umbral Realm to make the fires disappear and go up the stairs.
Follow the path up the stairs and you’ll reach the castle’s dining hall. Keep going forward until you reach the opposite exit of the dining hall.
You should reach an open area with some Rhogar Hounds and a Skinstealer enemy.
Deal with them and then throw your Wintry Ordinance at the blazing hall hanging from the broken fence.
Sunless Skein – Start from the Vestige of Hooded Antuli for this final blazing hand.
Turn around from the vestige and take the path to your right, going through the door that requires the Sunless Skein Key.
Once you’re out in the open, go to the lower level and follow the tracks to your left.
You should go past a burning wheel and a burning watchtower.
When you reach the kiln, turn to your right and climb the ladders next to the nearby building.
At the top of the wooden platforms, look for a dead tree with the final blazing hand hanging from it.
Extinguish it and you’re done!
Claiming The Rhogar Armor Set
Now that all blazing hands are extinguished, it’s time to go all the way back to the giant tree in Fitzroy’s Gorge!
You’ll now see that it looks… a little different, to say the least. There are hands emerging from its core.
Use the Crimson Ritual Fervor gesture in front of the tree and it will start smoldering, with text stating that you’ve drawn the ire of “one in whom a vengeful fire resides.”
Get ready for a fight! The new secret boss, General Engstrom, will appear shortly after you use the gesture.
Defeat him and you’ll instantly get the Rhogar Armor set, also known as General Engstrom’s Armor Set!
Lastly, you can use the Laughter gesture in front of the tree, too. Doing so will give you General Engstrom’s unique weapons as well, the Judgement and Punishment hammers.
So, there you have it, you can now cosplay as General Engstrom if you want! You’ve got his Rhogar armor set and his unique weapons, after all.
