As a child, you might also have wanted and dreamed of going to space. Good thing, Walternate Realities released a new game on October 24, 2022, especially for you.

Cosmoteer is a game of designing and constructing your own ship while also being strategic as you face other ships of your opponents. This game allows you to unleash your creativity to dominate other spaceships and guarantee your survival.

In this guide, we will tell you everything you need to know in starting your journey as a starship architect and commander in Cosmoteer.

Ultimate Starter Guide in Cosmoteer – Everything You Need to Know

Before you start your journey in space, there are still a lot of things that you have to consider. You cannot just jump into it without knowing anything.

To help you with that, here are some points that you have to know as a beginner in the game.

Picking a Ship

Your spaceship is the most important element that you have to be mindful of. At the start of the game, you will be asked to choose from three choices of ships: Model C, Model L, or Model S.

Model C refers to cannons. This ship requires ammo storage in order to fire.

A cannon ship is best to pierce through the shields and armor of your opponent’s ship. In fact, landing an attack can cause a fire in the internal rooms.

This is a relatively closer range than the other two. However, it is less accurate compared to other models.

For the Model L, the basic weapon is a laser. It requires renewable energy in order to fire.

This has a longer range and is more accurate than the first one. However, its lasers can only hit one block at a time.

Last but not least is the Model S which stands for shield. You can see a blue arc in front of the ship and it is the shield of the model caused by the shield generator.

Even though it is named after the shield does not mean it can’t be a good offense. Just like the previous one, it also has a pair of accurate lasers.

Energy

Your ship cannot run without internal actions. Each ship has several rooms, and these rooms require energy to work.

At a glance, you can already see whether the room is out of energy or if it is running out. If you can see that the room is working, then it sure has energy. However, if you see the electricity icon, it means that the room is down.

But do not worry as the crews will supply energy to the room that needs it.

The Reactor and The Cockpit

Aside from the rooms, your ship also houses the two most important elements in your ship. These are the Reactor Core and the Cockpit.

Once the cockpits of a ship get destroyed, that whole ship is already considered junk or debris. Failure to repair them means a game over.

On the other hand, the reactor core is what powers up the energy weapons, the engines, and basically the whole ship. When this reactor gets damaged, it causes an explosion which can damage the nearby rooms and engulf a big part of the ship by fire.

The Station

This big structure you can see is the station. You can find and start missions here.

You can access the station by pressing the Comms button and pointing it to the station. Doing this opens a tab where there is a list of missions you can do, hire crews, trade salvage or loot, and the blueprints for new rooms.

Finishing missions is important to increase your reputation. The higher the reputation, the more crews you can hire.
