Genshin Impact: Woodland Encounter Aranyaka Part 1 Quest Guide

A World Quest is a series of quest missions that unlocks and branches out to different quests that give Depth to the main Story Line.

Needless to say, unlocking these series of quests is needed to progress through the main story.

Today, we are going to guide you on how to trigger the first quest and lead you to where you should go as you complete this chain of missions for you to progress.

Quest Guide to Woodland Encounter, Aranyaka: Part I in Genshin Impact

The World Quest Chain of Missions triggers with the Woodland Encounter. As you Leave Gandhara Ville, follow the path until you reach a fork in the road.

Here, you will find Rana fighting off 3 Stretchy Geo Fungus. Come to her aid in defeating the mob. This would trigger a  that ends with you escorting her on her patrol.

As you Head off towards Vimara Village, you would come across withering zones. If you haven’t encountered this feature yet, Rana will go over the basics of withering zones, branches and Dendograna.

After the conversation, head out and eliminate the withering branches. The branches are located in front of a house on the west side of the arena, the left side of the Tumor of the Withering and another one further onward. Clear those and the Floating Dendro Fungi Mobs to trigger a boss fight with the Disciple of Decay.

Clear Tumor Of Decay

Once you defeat the boss, head to the Tumor of Decay and interact with it. Here, you will trigger a conversation where Paimon and Rana will tell you about the Aranara.

Head on towards the Teleport Waypoint in Vimara Village and activate it. As you enter the village, Rana would ask you to stop by Grandpa Amadhiah before continuing.

Continue towards the quest marker and learn more about Aranara and the problems in the village. As you head deeper into the village you would encounter Alphonso.

Vimara Village

This would trigger another conversation that would trigger another quest to learn from Alphonso about the children in town suddenly going missing. Here you would encounter 3 children talking to Rana and the next quest will have you following the 3 children towards Rana’s home.

Once you arrive home, Rana will have to leave you for awhile while you trigger another conversation scene with Paimon. As you finish with her, interact with the 3 kids to learn more about the Aranara.

Rana will arrive after you complete the conversation and informs you that more Withering Zones have appeared and asked for your help to clear them. Head on out to the Northwest area of the village.

Into The Woods

As you head Into the woods, head on towards the quest icon while defeating mobs of Sumeru Roses until you see a guarded chest along the path. Defeat the Whirling Cryo Fungus and Winged Cryoshroom that guards it and proceed to the Withering Zone.

Use an archer to defeat the withering branches while grabbing the Dendrogana to easily clear these. Head on deeper until you find a candle of life.

Clear the enemies guarding it to access the candle and if you managed to clear all guards, a Winged Dendroshroom and Whirling Electro Fungus will spawn to protect the Tumor of the Withering. After the battle, clear the Tumor and head on to the next withering zone on your map.

The path towards the next zone is littered with Spinocrocodiles. Use the Four-Leaf Sigil to fast travel towards the zone while avoiding these mobs to get to the next mission more quickly.

There are 3 withering branches in the area guarded by Whirling Cryo Fungus and Floating Hydro Fungus. Clear all of these to spawn the Disciple of Decay that you have to defeat to cleanse the area from the Tumor of the Withering.

With those 2 withering zones cleared, your final task is to clear out a mob of Spinocrocodiles by the creek. This time, Rana will be joining you in the fight as you clear 2 mobs of them.

Setting up Camp

The next quest is for you to set up camp. Head on to the golden quest marker to activate a conversation which would task you to find 3 pieces of firewood for your camp. The firewood spots can be seen on the map so head on towards it and interact with them to collect the 3 pieces.

Heading back to camp with the firewood triggers a conversation where you light the campfire and Rana talks about the village history. This ends the quest for Into the Woods.

The Lost Child

Head on to the next quest marker Return to Vimara Village. For you to activate this, do not teleport towards the village. You need to meet up with Rana along the way to trigger the quest.

Heading towards the quest marker will show you someone running by, this triggers for you to follow the person into a cave off the creek.

Walking deeper into the cave, you get ambushed by Fatui Skirmisher Pyroslinger Bracers and Fatui Pyro Agent. Clear these out together with Rana and continue your search for the child.

You hear him responding to your cries as you go deeper into the cave into an open area on the cave floor. The kid Iotham is down there together with a large Withering Zone.

Clear the withering branches until a Grounded Hydroshroom appear. Kill those and destroy the Tumor of the withering to trigger a conversation scene. Afterward,  head off with Iotham and Rana towards Vimara Village.

Retrace your steps to the entrance of the cave and head back to  Vilmara Village. Head over to Alphonse to return Iotham and you find out Rana is not with you. Return to the cave to find out what happened to her.

Upon reaching the cave, follow the marker towards a different cave exit heading straight towards a river.

Cross that to get to where Rana is located where a new NPC Arana tells you that to help Rana, you need to travel to Vanarana to get Bija. This ends the first part of the Aranyaka quest.
