Path of Exile: Lightning Strike Raider | SSF Guide for Lake of Kalandra

The Lightning Strike Raider has always been a popular build in previous POE leagues, and the same holds true for the newest Lake of Kalandra league.

Patch 3.19 or the so-called Lake of Kalandra is finally out, and it’s about time for players to put their theorycrafted builds to the test. One of the many builds that have seemingly managed to stand the test of time is the Lightning Strike Raider.

If you haven’t tried this build before, then you might want to consider running it for this league. Let’s have a look at how you can get the build running, especially in Solo Self Found.

Lightning Strike Raider | SSF Guide for Lake of Kalandra in Path of Exile

For this build, we’re going for the Raider ascendancy as it’s the perfect option if you’re going for any elemental damage attack build. However, do keep in mind that this build is for SSF, so buying uniques or other gear from other players is not an option.

For your skill tree, you want to refer to this skill tree on POB:

If you don’t have Path of Building just yet, I highly recommend using it as it will be integral to your future builds in Path of Exile. With the skill tree imported on POB, you can see where you want to path your skill tree during leveling all the way to endgame.

As for gear progression, getting a 6-link in SSF can be really hard, especially since you can’t just buy it straight from the trade. Instead, you’re better off getting a decent 5-link and just set aside farming for a 6-link later on.

For the gems, you can go for a Vaal Lightning Strike gem as long as you’re comfortable farming XP for your gem. This will allow you to take on mid-tier yellow maps without dying too much. However, if you want to progress your Atlas quickly, then go for Spectral Helix instead. Once you have your 6-link, you can then switch to Vaal Lightning Strike.

Endgame Gear Goals

Of course, since you’re playing on SSF, getting the gear you need can be quite a challenge. This would normally involve a lot of time and a bit of luck. For your endgame gear, you want to be focusing on getting the following:

  • Blizzard Crown helmet
  • Lethal Pride jewel
  • Level 21/20 Vaal Lightning Strike gem
  • +1 Strike Gloves

Apart from that, you also want to look for any Pierce mod, be it via an enchantment or a passive skill in your skill tree.

For the gem links, you want to slot the following once you have a 6-link:

  • Vaal Lightning Strike
  • Ancestral Call Support
  • Added Lightning Damage Support
  • Added Cold Damage Support
  • Elemental Damage with Attacks Support
  • Multistrike Support

For your auras, you want to use Herald of Ice, Grace, and Precision for extra damage and a bit of survivability. You should also use Blood Rage as your source of life leech to help further sustain your HP.
