The “Trigger a Socketed Spell when you Use a Skill” mod is still one of the strongest affixes in Path of Exile. As the name suggests, this mod automatically casts any socketed spell whenever you use a skill.
This makes it extremely popular for automation setups such as Desecrate, Offering skills, curses, and more. The caveat is that it has an 8-second cooldown and a 150% spell cost when triggered. For certain builds, that’s a small price to pay for the power it gives.
In this guide, we’ll tell you how to find the recipe to craft the Trigger mod in Path of Exile as of the 3.25 version.
How to Get Trigger Craft in Path of Exile

Even after multiple leagues, patches, and multiple reworks to PoE’s systems, the Trigger craft is still widely used in a lot of builds.
Back then, it only existed as a Veiled mod, which means you had to farm and unlock it by engaging in Syndicate encounters. However, its location has been changed with the release of the Settlers of Kalguur league.
Now, you can find the mod in The Refinery during Act 9. You can’t find it earlier, but it’s no longer a Veiled Mod. That means, it’s much easier to actually craft into your gear!
Once you reach The Refinery, look for a grate with a glow. Its location is randomized since the dungeon’s layout changes every now and then. Sadly, you won’t be able to see the grate on the minimap either.
Keep your eyes peeled for a grate like the one shown above and interact with it.

After interacting with the grate, you’ll uncover the entrance to the Refinery Tunnels sub-area.
As soon as you enter the Refinery Tunnels, look for some sort of altar with a Crafting Recipe. It should be in the center of the room.Interact with to automatically unlock the crafting recipe for the “Trigger a Socketed Spell on Using a Skill” mod.

Do take note that a horde of enemies will spawn once the altar is activated.
After that, you can then craft the Trigger mod onto your gear in Path of Exile via the crafting bench. It’s a Level 60 mod that requires 3 Chaos Orbs.
One important mechanic many newer players miss is that the craft only triggers one socketed spell at a time. If you socket multiple spells in the weapon, they will activate sequentially based on socket order instead of all casting simultaneously.
Is the Trigger Mod Still Good?
Even in the current meta, the Trigger mod is still one of the best QoL crafts for most caster and minion builds. As far as I know, they’re mainly useful for curse application, Offering automation setups, and Frost Bomb exposure setups.
That said, triggered spells still require mana, unless specified otherwise. Moreover, trigger mechanics now have increased mana multipliers, so you might need additional mana sustain to make the setup feel smooth.
And that’s everything you need to know about how to get the Trigger craft in Path of Exile.
