Time on Frog Island: How to Get the Wheel for Your Ship

You start your playthrough on Time on Frog Island near the shore where your ship has just been wrecked. Luckily, it’s still possible to fix your ship; you just need to obtain various parts to make it usable again. One of these parts is the wheel.

While that might sound easy, you actually have to go through various tasks before you can even get a wheel for your ship. If you don’t know how to complete this, then this guide is for you.

How to Get the Wheel for Your Ship in Time on Frog Island

To get a wheel, you need to visit the merchant on the froggy village just north of the campsite and beyond the farm. If the merchant is not there when you arrive, simply sleep for one night until he shows up the other day.

You’ll want to talk to the merchant and negotiate for the wheel. However, you won’t be able to talk with them as they’re too busy looking for their pet. The pet in question is a tadpup. What you want to do is look for the pet on the southern beach of East Island. You can find it just right next to a scarecrow head.

Take the tadpup to the merchant, and now you can start asking them for the wheel. However, the merchant will ask you to bring a lamp in exchange for the wheel. If you speak to them again, they will tell you that you can get a lamp from the Hermit.

From there, head east past the two small bridges then go all the way north until you come across the hermit under the Sakura tree. Speak to the hermit and he will tell you that he hates the bell ringing. As such, you will need to solve this problem.

Your next task is to remove the bell from the church tower. From the hermit, go left past his house then jump down until you get to the church tower. Interact with the bell to remove it, then return to the hermit. This time, he will then ask you to get an Ice Brew.

Getting an Ice Brew

Head back to the frog village and go to the tavern located in the eastern part of the area. Speak to the Tavern Keeper to ask about the Ice Brew. He will tell you that in order to make one, you need to get an Ice Flower. However, you can only find one on the snowy mountaintops.

Before you go to that area, take a detour to the northern part of East Island first. There, you can find a purple cube crystal. Take it then go back to the main island.

From the frog village, head back to where the hermit is then take the path that leads to the mountaintop on the right. Simply follow this path until you reach the snowy mountaintops. You will eventually find a closed gate. You just need to insert the purple crystal you got earlier to open it.

Go past the gate and head over to the highest part of the mountain, all while jumping on the stone platforms. You will then find your way to the top where there are several Ice Flowers lying on the ground. Just take one then go back to the Tavern Keeper.

Speak to the Tavern Keeper, and he will tell you to place the Ice Flower on the brewing machine. You will then have to wait until tomorrow for the Ice Brew to finish. After waking up, go back to the tavern, use the red lever on the barrel to pour the Ice Brew into a glass, then take it to the hermit.

Give the Ice Brew to the hermit in exchange for his lantern.

Getting the Wheel

You can now go back to the merchant. Simply give them the lantern and they will then give you the wheel in return. With the wheel in your hands, go back to where your ship is and attach the wheel afterward.
