If you’ve played the game during the Season of Opulence which was released back in 2019, then you’ll be surprised to see some of its best weapons make a comeback in Season of the Haunted. Specifically, you’ll find weapons such as Drang, Austringer, Beloved, and Calus Minitool.

However, obtaining them isn’t as straightforward as it seems. If you have no idea where to find them, then this guide is for you.

Best Weapons Farm in Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted

There are two main ways to farm these Opulent weapons. First is through the Nightmare Containment activity inside the Derelict Leviathan. Second is by unlocking Opulent Weapon tuning. Let’s have a look at each of these methods.

Nightmare Containment Farming

For this farming method, you’ll want to head over to the Derelict Leviathan and do the Nightmare Containment activity. However, completing the activity itself is not the best method to farm these weapons.

Instead, you’ll want to collect as many Vestiges of Dread as possible. These will allow you to obtain seasonal rewards more often.

You’ll be using this new currency at the end of the Containment activity, shortly after defeating the final boss in tier 3. After defeating the boss, turn in 500 Vestiges of Dread to the Nightmare Harvester scepter to obtain random drops, including Opulent weapons.

Keep in mind that they’re not a guaranteed drop, but they’re part of the loot pool alongside other exciting seasonal drops as well. This is why you want to get as many Vestiges of Dread as possible.

You can earn this currency by doing just about everything, from completing public events in the Derelict Leviathan to joining ritual playlist activities.

Also, you can equip the Eidolon Pursuant in order to increase the amount of Vestiges of Dread you earn.

Another way is to open the Opulent chests which are scattered all over the Derelict Leviathan. However, you’ll need Opulent keys to open them, and there’s no guarantee that an Opulent weapon will drop. But then again, they’re part of the loot pool so you should eventually get one soon.

Opulent Weapon Tuning

If you want a reliable means of getting the Opulent weapons, then your best option is Opulent Weapon tuning. Basically, you have to tune their Umbral Engrams via the Crown of Sorrow. However, you’ll need Opulent Umbral Energy and Umbral Engrams to do so. You also have to upgrade your Crown of Sorrow as well.

Though reliable, this will require a lot more farming since you’ll have to obtain a variety of stuff all at once. For the Crown of Sorrow upgrades, you have to complete seasonal challenges as well as weekly story missions.

They will grant you Figments of Darkness which lets you unlock new abilities, including the ability to tune Opulent weapons.

The tuning option for Opulent weapons can be unlocked in the Manifesting row, and you’ll need to unlock four upgrades prior to it first. In other words, you have to upgrade your Crown Influence to 16.

After unlocking the tuning ability, you’ll then need to farm Opulent Umbral Energy which can be obtained from the same method used for farming Opulent weapons in the Derelict Leviathan.
