Seven Deadly Sins: Origin has finally hit its full 1.0 launch and with a sizable roster available from day one, knowing where to invest your early pulls can save you a lot of frustration down the line. The gacha landscape here is competitive and not every character is worth chasing, especially when resources are tight in the early game.

In this tier list, I will rank every character available in the launch version of the game so you know exactly who to prioritize, who to skip, and how to build a team that performs well in combat.

Best Characters Tier List (Version 1.0)

Keep in mind that this tier list is highly subjective. I have based it on the overall performance of a character in combat and their synergy with other characters. The better the performance, the higher they are on the tier list. The S Tier is the best with the D Tier being the worst. Below is the complete tier list of all the characters available in the global launch version.

Here is the complete breakdown of the tier list I provided above:

S Tier

These are the best characters in the game right now. They either dominate in their role or are versatile enough to fit into almost any team composition and make a noticeable difference wherever they are placed.

Breakdown of the S Tier.
  • Meliodas
    • Meliodas is simply wonderful to play with. Two of his builds, Axe and Dual Swords, are extremely powerful.
    • With the Axe build, he can deal an insane amount of damage very quickly. Very useful to have when facing high HP enemies.
    • The Dual Swords is also a good alternative to the Axe build. You can inflict Hellfire on the enemy, decreasing their resistance to critical hits allowing you to deal a lot of damage.
    • His adventure skill Captain’s Acumen is a must-have as well for traversal in the world. It allows you to double jump and do wall runs.
  • Jericho
    • Alongside Meliodas, you can also use Jericho to increase your overall damage output. In her Dual Swords build, she can teleport behind enemies to deal 15% extra damage through her Weapon Enchantment skill.
    • Her Lance build is also a good alternative. It has good damage output while also offering support to the team by giving shields.
  • Diane
    • In her Nunchucks build, her passive ability Breath of the Giants is an impressive support skill to have. For every 20 attacks you do, your team will get Heart of the Land (HP regeneration + a shield) for 20 seconds. She is also able to Petrify enemies for 6 seconds when they are hit 5 times by her Desert Sands skill.
    • If you want to use Diane as a DPS, then I would recommend using her Axe build. She can Stun enemies and deal a ton of damage.
    • Since Diane has the earth element, using her Nunchucks build alongside Elaine (Book build) and King (Wand build) is a very strong team combination. Add Meliodas to this team and you practically have the best team in the game right now.

A Tier

Solid characters that are not quite at the top but are still very much worth using. They hold their own in most situations and can perform well in the right team, just do not expect them to carry the way S tier characters do.

Breakdown of the A Tier.
  • Elaine
    • If you want to use Elaine as a DPS then her Wand build is pretty good for that. She can deal a decent amount of wind damage.
    • She also performs exceptionally well in an earth team with her Book build. Her ultimate skill can Petrify enemies and her passive skill increases the earth damage of the team.
  • King
    • King is the perfect character to have on the team with Diane because of his earth Wand build.
    • He provides a lot of earth damage buffs, making him a must-have for any earth team and the perfect partner alongside Diane and Elaine.
    • His adventure skill Flight is also very useful. It allows you to fly to a location quickly.
  • Manny
    • She is a nice character to have on the team if your main character is Jericho. I recommend using her Staff build as she provides a lot of buffs.
    • Her ultimate skill resets the normal skill cooldowns of your other heroes, allowing characters like Jericho to do a lot more damage.

B Tier

The characters on this tier are not that great, but at the same time not that bad. I can say they are pretty average. If you lack sufficient A or S tier characters, then you can fill your team with these characters instead.

Breakdown of the B Tier.
  • Gulia
    • In my opinion the fire team is currently the weakest. There are not many fire support characters out there at the moment. Gulia has potential to be useful in the future when there are better fire characters available.
  • Drake
    • Drake is a decent character but the lightning team currently lacks in the damage department. Especially when compared to the earth team. Which is why I would currently consider Drake a B tier character.
  • Tristan
    • Tristan can prove useful early on when you can easily build a fire team, but avoid relying on him later.
  • Howzer
    • You can use Howzer in the same team as Elaine (Wand build) if you do not have anything better.
  • Hendricks
    • Can be used as a support character alongside Meliodas but other than that, there’s nothing else to him.
  • Slader
    • Slader is one of the early characters you get alongside Guila. Good for early game but nothing special later on.

C Tier

Characters that are a step above D tier but still not something you want to rely on for long. They can get you through the early game in a pinch but you will want to replace them as soon as better options become available.

One thing that I found valuable here is Bug‘s adventure skill called Downsize. It turns you into a small demon that can fly. I found this extremely helpful in traversing around the map.

Breakdown of the C Tier.
  • Tioreh
  • Gil Thunder
  • Bug

D Tier

These characters perform the worst in the game. They have nothing special about them. If you have other characters in the game, then these characters are not even worth playing with.

The only useful thing I found here was DrefusOne-Shot Breaker adventure skill which marks nearby minerals and also improves mining efficiency.

Breakdown of the D Tier.
  • Dreydin
  • Dreyfus
  • Griamore

Wrapping Up

That is the full tier list for Seven Deadly Sins: Origin at Version 1.0 launch. If you are just starting out, focusing on getting Meliodas and building an earth team around him is your safest bet right now. The synergy between the earth characters is simply on another level compared to everything else available right now.

Keep in mind that this will change as the game gets updates and new characters are added, so check back here as the meta develops and new options become available.
