Meliodas is one of the strongest characters you can build around in Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, and his flexibility across three different weapon types makes him a solid choice for beginners who are still figuring out their preferred playstyle. The challenge for F2P players is knowing which build to prioritize and which free characters actually complement him well without needing to pull premium units.
In this guide, I will cover the best build for Meliodas and a solid F2P team to run alongside him so you can get the most out of the Dragon Sin of Wrath from the start.
Best F2P Team and Build for Meliodas
Meliodas is one of the SSR characters available through the “Meliodas Pick Up” banner and he is currently one of the strongest DPS units in the game. Both his Axe and Dual Swords builds are capable of putting out an insane amount of damage, making him a worthwhile pull regardless of which direction you want to take him.
Based on my knowledge from the beta, I would have recommended the Axe build without hesitation. However, in the global version, the developers removed the healing component from the Dual Swords build and significantly increased its damage output in return, making it completely overpowered and the clear choice for beginners who want to solely rely on Meliodas to carry their team.
Getting Potential for Meliodas as a F2P Player
I recommend maxing out all three of Meliodas’s masteries, even the ones that are not directly related to the Dual Swords build. While the other masteries will not contribute to your damage output directly, each maxed out mastery still rewards you with a potential tier for Meliodas. This means that by maxing all three, you can unlock three tiers of Meliodas’s potential completely for free, which is a significant boost to his overall stats.

Best F2P Team To Pair Up With Meliodas
Now for the best F2P team composition to run alongside Meliodas, I recommend pairing him with Tristan, Tioreh, and Guila. The great thing about this lineup is that all three of these characters are completely free and require no pulling whatsoever. Tristan and Tioreh are handed to you automatically once the tutorial wraps up, and Guila is available through the Grand Launch Celebration Check-In event.
The reason this team composition works so well is that all three characters share the fire element, which can help out Meliodas dish a ton of damage. Tristan brings fire through his Greatsword and Dual Swords builds, while Tioreh covers fire through her Book and Wand builds. Guila takes it a step further with all three of her builds being fire based, making her a naturally flexible fit in this team regardless of how you choose to build her.
How to Use Meliodas
The reason for building a full fire team around Meliodas comes down to taking advantage of the Elemental Burst mechanic. Tristan, Tioreh, and Guila are not that great in dealing damage on their own, but their shared fire element makes them extremely effective at building up the Elemental Burst gauge on enemies. Each hit from a fire element character contributes to filling that gauge, and once it is maxed out, the enemy becomes significantly more vulnerable to incoming damage.
This is where Meliodas comes in. The moment the Elemental Burst triggers, swap to Meliodas and unleash all of his skills along with his ultimate ability. You will notice the enemy health bar go down like it’s nothing.
Wrapping Up
That covers everything you need to get the most out of Meliodas as a F2P player in Seven Deadly Sins: Origin. The Dual Swords build combined with a full fire element team is about as strong as it gets at this stage of the game while keeping things free-to-play.
The game regularly puts out gift codes that can give your account a nice boost, so make sure you are not missing out on any free rewards by checking out our guide on how to redeem codes in 7DSO.
