Your account progression system in Seven Deadly Sins: Origin (7DSO) is the Book of Stars, which currently mainly covers level 1-40.
Essentially, you get XP for the Book of Stars by doing pretty much anything. As it increases, you reach thresholds that allow you to boost the World Level. This makes everything more challenging, but also more rewarding! It’s a fairly common gacha system, admittedly.
In this guide, I’ll give you tips and pointers to help take you through levels 1 to 40 efficiently.
Early Game – Up to Book of Stars Level 15

Early on in the game, your progression is extremely simple. Realistically, you just need to focus on the game’s story. That is enough to get you through the first 15 levels with relative ease.
As always, the main storyline is also a great source of early resources and will unlock the game’s features steadily. The faster you can get through the story, the better, so don’t put it off.
While you’re at it, this is also a good point to start planning ahead for your account. Mainly, you want to decide on which hypercarry character to focus on!
If you managed to get Meliodas, you’re all set. He’s the best character in the game currently, and a fantastic hypercarry. If you do have him, just check out our Meliodas build and team guide.
Alternatively, Jericho and Diane are also fantastic hypercarry picks, if you have them. As a last resort, the humble Tristan is also a solid pick that every single player has access to.

When you’ve decided which hypercarry to focus on, you’ll also want to start progressing their Mastery.
While at this stage of the game, make sure to also just explore, mine any nodes you come across, and craft. It’s a good idea to be leveling your crafting skills naturally, as it’ll come in handy for Spell Beads.
Similarly, make sure to do as many Daily Missions as you can, but I recommend not using Cube Key Bundles until you hit World Level 3 ideally.

Lastly, at this stage you should check Region Seals Merchants. You can exchange the Seals you get from quests and exploration with them. I highly recommend getting their SR Weapon Chests and Elite Tokens.
World Level 2 to 3 – Up to Book of Stars Level 30

Once you hit World Level 2, the overall rules of progression remain mostly the same. It’s not a huge change-up, thankfully!
First of all, continue progressing your hypercarry’s Mastery as much as possible. Check which materials you need and start farming them more actively, if you haven’t been doing so.
Invest into all 3 main Mastery Trees for your hypercarry. The only things you can ignore are the nodes for weapons you aren’t actively using at the time.
Similarly, you also want to continue focusing on the story. You’ll likely have trouble with Fraudrin, Weird Fangs, and Guila, however.
If you feel like you’re stuck with the main story quests, do side quests. They are generally pretty easy, while also giving you a nice amount of resources and XP.

You also want to continue upgrading your crafting level until you get to Workbench Level 4 as soon as possible. This will allow you to craft the things you need to get a mount. For more details, check out our guide on how to get a free mount.
It will also allow you to craft stronger Spell Beads, which you should use to enchant your hypercarry’s weapons. On that note, your hypercarry should have an SR weapon by this point.
If you’re lacking when it comes to equipment, you can farm some from a few specific bosses. Red Demon, Molbog the Poisonous Toad, and Banakro are your best bets. I also recommend equipping gear with Team Health bonuses on every character.
However, do not upgrade your equipment too much yet. It’s a waste to upgrade to SSR equipment at this point, as you’ll be replacing things later on anyway. Just do the bare minimum upgrading if you feel stuck.
With some small side-questing and exploring, you should be able to continue the story until you hit World Level 3.
World Level 3-4 – Book of Starts Level 30 to 40

Once you’re in World 3 and strong enough, you’ll also want to focus on farming Red Demon and Molbog the Poisonous Toad, as we covered in our best gear farm guide. If you’re strong enough, add Banakro to your rotation.
They’ll now drop SSR equipment, so feel free to use Cube Key Bundles to farm! They’re also a decent source of Tokens for Mastery Limit Breaks.
On that note, make sure to continue farming for the materials required for your hypercarry’s Mastery. Never stop trying to progress the Mastery until you max it out!
By this point in your progression, you should be strong enough to be able to go back to the main story and finish it, if you haven’t done so yet.
If you get stuck at any point, just continue doing any side quests you haven’t done so yet. Doing most of them will be required to reach Level 40, due to how much XP they give out, regardless.
At this point, you’re pretty much in the endgame and all that’s left is to grind and exhaust any remaining content! Well, until the next content update, of course.
Wrapping Up
Overall, Book of Stars Level 1-40 progression in 7DSO is pretty straightforward. You mainly just focus on doing the story and side-quests while boosting your hypercarry’s Mastery. It’s fairly simple, thankfully.
Regardless, I hope this guide helped you figure out how to efficiently progress through the game to reach the current endgame!
